Big budget movies don't spend 300 million on the movie. The marketing budget is usually bigger than what went into the film and a large portion of it is spent on pampering VIPs and wasting money on excessive and needless location filming and gratuitous effects. Every penny of this movies budget was spent wisely, by an artist who knows how to convey their ideas without being wasteful. 15 million dollars is a lot of money, if you know how to use it. It's crazy that people need 300 million to make a good film.
@FramesPerSecond3 жыл бұрын
@@BlueZirnitra actually the marketing budget is seperate so a blockbuster that costs say 200million dollars has an additional marking budget of about the same so it ends up being 400million dollars. But the budget of the film stays 200million because marketing is seperate.

I really enjoyed this movie A lot. I've heard a lot of hate against it on the interwebs. I've heard a lot of people say they don't understand it. I don't get any of that. It was a beautiful authorian movie in a day and age where the quality of movies isn't what it used to be. I would love to see more like it

David Lowery and Denis Villeneuve are two directors whose careers I feel fortunate to observe. Visionary is an over-used term, but with them it feels entirely appropriate.

Lowery, Villeneuve and, also, Robert Eggers and the, more established, Coen brothers are a minority in Hollywood. Artists who tell unique stories instead of, as Scorcese puts it, provide amusement park rides.

@@jmchez Paul Thomas Anderson & Ari Astor as well! I think “auteur” is the word you’re looking for.

Arthur's actor is phenomenal. This film was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. The sound in this film was equally as intense. The sound of the Green Knight moving, all the creaks and snaps... If you're a person who doesn't really understand metaphor, I would definitely understand how it might just seem a weird movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and followed it with delight. Another perfect late night film by A24. The whole thing is like a moving painting in every shot. Brilliant cinematography. Get a little buzz and it's like a fun dream. I can't wait to own a copy. I hope I get to see it again soon.

Perhaps the most amazing sound of all was Ineson's natural voice.

When it comes to stories of life lessons of morality & growth, its great to see a vision by a creator who is very well resourced & will put forth the effort of care into it.
