@@charlesman8722 that is how Ian wrote A Haunting At Ravenglass and The Sleeper of the thingy thing. I don't think it is dignified to operate William Hope Hodgson's cadaver like a ventriloquist puppet...but Lovecraft probably enjoyed the company culminating in shouting at about Warren at passing fools.

Maine is a beautiful state. I live an hour away in Massachusetts. I spent many childhood summers in Maine on Islesboro island. There are many fictional horror stories that take place in Maine. Especially in the towns of Castle Rock, Jerusalem's Lot, Haven, and of course Derry where they all float. Though none of those towns actually exist. Except in the imagination of a certain author.

Great reading, I wish that H. P. L. had done more with the Dream Quest Cycle, they will always be my favorites of his works, such a masterful amalgamation of fantasy, horror and mind bending sci-fi all in the realm of dreams....(Sigh), speaking as one who has, indeed, grown weary of the ways of the modern world, I fully empathize with Randolph and his desire to find the gleaming spires of long lost childhood realms. 😧😔😴

It's a wonderful story, but I kinda think Lovecraft should've avoided part of his traditional writing style, with heavy use of alliteration, in a text that is supposed to be a literal translation from Greek, which in my mind would have leaned more towards keeping the meaning of the individual words rather than keeping the rhyme or meter of the original text.
