Every time Patrice was on a show whether it be O&A or whatever, it was honestly like a hilarious ted talk. A brilliant mind, up there with the likes of Carlin and Pryor. The dude has a cult following, but never had the mainstream following he deserved. He absolutely roasted Bob, and you can tell Bob enjoyed every minute of it. I think he was being incredibly vulnerable and introspective here. This is one of the more interesting clips of Patrice. He still speaks truth, but he's surrounded by comics who achieved the kind of fame and notoriety that he knew that he should have, but he wasnt willing to do what they did to get it... It was super fitting when Roseann said that you had to choose between being famous and being great. Patrice made that choice long ago, but you can't help but sense that there was at least a little... regret(?) there.

You can usually tell if a person is racially prejudiced and she doesn´t seem to me as a person with hate in her heart or that judges other people differently based on their skin colour or ethnicity. Not to mention she was high on Ambien when she made that dumb tweet. I think firing her from her own after she apologized was a bit overkill.

I don't even think it was a racially motivated tweet. Roseanne said that Valerie Jarrett looked like a character from Planet of the Apes and she really does. Valerie Jarrett has a very distinctive, odd look that resembles one of the characters. The racial slur of referring to black people as monkeys is a denigration of their humanity by implying they aren't as highly evolved as other races. That's not what Roseanne was saying though. She was saying that Jarrett literally looks like the character. The equivalent would be saying that a man with large, sagging rolls of skin on their face resembles a bulldog.

14:40 Patrice is talking about his career not really taking off at the beginning. He decided to just be authentic, instead of worrying about the results. And look where we are now... it's 2023. He's been gone for a decade, and people who never even knew his work when he was alive absolutely love him. We actively search up any old clips we can find just to get more of him. Currently, he has the greatest reputation of any comic there, and it's not even close. He changed the lives of a generation of men. He's a legend, and he did it because he was authentic. I just wish he were alive to see it. I doubt he could ever have imagined, back then, just how many lives he would touch.
