I used to remove the heavy fiberglass top off my 78 Blazer using a similar technique. I had rubber coated hooks, hanging by short rope, from the ceiling. I just got in the truck, bent over, put my back against the inter ceiling of the cap and used my legs to lift the top. I could raise it high enough that way to grab the hooks and fit them under the edges of the top on each corner.

Eventually I'll rig up some sort of pulley system with a manual boat winch anchored to the back wall, but right now every available section of wall space is filled with something large and heavy, which makes routing cables difficult. I think it'll become a priority as I get older and my back decides it doesn't want to lift heavy objects.

Engine and trans not worth saving? I once needed a bell housing for '62 Scout because the cast leverage point of the clutch linkage broke off.

Sadly, the engine was locked tight, and I've already got a spare 345 on a stand in the garage. I would love to have kept the rest of the running gear, but time wasn't on my side (and I don't have a lift).

A friend needs a passengers side quarter glass for his 68. Do you have one for sale?

Hey, I don't have one for sale right now, but I'll reach out if I do.

Apologies Raymond; the carcass got hauled off a couple of months ago.
