That bus has LOTS of potential. And the 2 litre fuel injected type 4 buses were certainly the best performers of all the bay window models. You two need to read the Bentley fuel injection section of the manual on troubleshooting. As others have said, the fuel pump will not run with the key on and engine NOT cranking. Most issues with the fuel injection are vacuum leak related as you have discovered. And make sure those points are perfect of course... The "B" light is dual purpose on '79's. Indicates either of problem with the hydraulic pressure in the brake system (if on all the time), or simply that your park brake is on. I have a '74 Riviera with a later fuel injected 2 litre and six rib trans. And the interior was upgraded to all Westfalia parts. So it is called my "Restfalia", and I will never part with it! Westfalia quality was far better than the cheapo materials that Riviera used, although the Riviera stuff was kind of neat. Once you get that bay window dialed in, you will realize just how bad splits are to drive (but they sure look cool...)

The Riviera is my very favorite Bay Window poptop roof design, but the interior quality is not up to the level of a Westfalia. I had a '74 Riv in the 1990s. I gutted the interior, removed the passenger side bulkhead, and welded in a Westy swivel seat base. I saved the rear seat hardware, repurposed the Norcold fridge for the basement workshop, and made a new interior at my friend's cabinet shop and the upholstery shop where I worked at the time. That blue looks excellent.

Happy bday you’ll love the baywindow once you get it dialed in they drive way better than a split that yellow light is your brake light it usually means something is going on with them as in bad. Also that late bay fuel injection is hard to find certain parts and hard to diagnose when something is wrong hopefully yours will be all good
