In the late 80s I listened to one of his shrapnel albums almost everyday, super slippery style, excellent technique and note selection. The guy is great.

Wow, I learned so much from Greg in this interview - it was almost more of a "lesson" than an "interview"! Very cool!

I'm only about a third of the way through this and it is a really, really great interview. Finally got through the whole thing. What a journey. And more to go. Great stuff.

as a hardcore fan of greg ,the slide vibrato came the way he described it but he forgot to say that he remembered seeing a lynch video/dokken where george was doin it ,he didnt steal it from him but the seeing the movement inspired him:)

Guthrie Govan's Erotic Cakes is legendary but Greg Howe is SUCH a prolific composer, SO melodic and nuanced with his fast runs, it's almost not to be believed. Wheelhouse and Soundproof are PROOF that Greg's composing skills are NOT slowing down. Greg is my favorite player of all time. Hands down.
@roba18993 жыл бұрын
Howe's personality on the guitar is so unique and musical, I can see why Guthrie couldn't 'cop it' .. all praise to Sir Govan as he really is my second favorite player and he is (I think) slightly more technical than Howe, Greg's composition trumps any level of technicality. Mattias IA Eklundh is a technical god but his music is grating and clinical .. Greg is perfectly musical like ALL of the time. I simply can't wait for his new album.

DEREK TRUCKS .. I said it just before he found out because I remember the video! Derek plays SO musically and with a Blues slide style .. it's ALL note choice. You guys might love the album Lifeboat by Jimmy Herring. That whole album is like a Greg Howe Fusion very musical album ..
@roba18993 жыл бұрын
He doesn't want to limit himself to the guitar shapes on the fretboard so he puts it down to think solely of the music that needs to be played .. his imagination is in control. This is brilliant.

Dude. Cut the cord on the 100 word questions. The fanboy is cool but can be can be a distraction to the viewer. Nothing wrong with writing the questions down first. Just trying to help.
