Greg LeMond était ma référence, mon champion cycliste préféré et il l’est encore aujourd’hui. Un grand athlète, une personnalité sympathique et attachante, une légende du cyclisme, du Tour de France et du sport ! Bravo Greg !

I went to the same highschool as Greg lemond, 30years after he did but still cool. There is a loop here that he used for training for the TDF. The lemond loop

From Australia. Greg was an intentional hero. The Lemond Loop sounds like a plan. I hope the kids took advantage of it, if only to know they did it.

Glad I met Greg, my neighbor was on the team with him at '82 Worlds, and I was shot later in '87, almost bleeding out and coming back was our way of relating beyond bikes, Peace3ed

Minus the hunting accident, it's reasonably likely that Greg would have won five tours alongside the (non-cheating) Tour legends. Still, he's the guy that finally put the US on the cycling world map, and a true sports hero after the '89 win.

EPO was not around when Greg rode. Greg would have taken EPO just like everyone else in the Peloton once it was prevalent because the 10% advantage it gives is far to great to overcome naturally. With that said, Greg was a freaking amazing champion!!! A truly incredible rider and athlete.
@MrThierryclement6 ай бұрын
Apparently hé refuse to take EPO, and this is the raison of his decline. However, i believe it's true (because a lot of person who are around him confirm this point) and I have a huge respect for him ! I come from Belgium, the country of cycling (and in 89 he was in a Belgium team !!! ), he is very popular here. Personaly I like Hampsten in this era, and Apparently he have thé same reputation of clean cyclist, so respect for that (and the Giro it's a beautiful competition too).

In addition LeMond would had easily won 1985 TdF, but he was Hinaults lieutenant. He was forced to wait Hinault for minutes, NOT TO win TdF by ACCIDENT. It was screw up of team, Greg would not had rided so hard, but team told erroneously that Hinault was just few seconds behind. He ofcourse would not wanted to make his captain look bad.

He could of also won 1985…..
@whitgurley77332 жыл бұрын
Not only that, but he made an agreement with Bernard Hinault to help him win the '85 tour so that Hinault could notch five Tour wins just like Merckx and Jacques Anquetil, with the understanding that they would trade places in '86. Hinault reneged on that agreement during the '86 Tour, claiming he didn't think Greg could win, but of course LeMond won anyway.

At 10:09 WTH with that jerkoff riding the motorcycle & the rest of the vehicles boxing Fignon in ... slowing him down AT LEAST a couple seconds! I bet they got in his a way at least a couple other times during that final time trial. Fignon may have WON the TDF by a second or 2 if NOT for the vehicles getting in his way! Delgado should have WON that Tour btw.
@brendonmadden-smith Жыл бұрын
The race is in France and Fignon was French. Those vehicles were helping Fignon...
@stevemahoney1733 Жыл бұрын
You need to give yourself a new name.....may I suggest "Ministry of mis information". He wasn't "boxed in" The motorcycle which was in front of him was too far ahead to hold him back or give him much drafting (which is helpful). If you're familiar with Greg's early trials on french teams, you'd know about French cycling & how "The Badger' was given preferential treatment because he was French.
@stevecooper7038 Жыл бұрын
LeMond was a great wheel sucker, never an attacking rider. Much preferred Fignon's style of riding, where he owned LeMond in the mountains.
