I don't know if Mankaho has an understanding of Elytra, there were moments where he could've mix-up Will by flying under the stage to grab the ledge on the other side, that or maybe he had fought a D3 before that countered that in some way? There were so many moments where he could've just said "nope" to D3's ledgetrapping by doing this.

That was a sick match. It’s crazy to see the how much of a double-edged sword limited resources are. Diamond weapons kick ass, but relying on iron to recover properly is a death sentence in the wrong moments, and sometimes it costs you the set. Incredible gameplay from both players

@@rubberwoody That’s true, but Steve’s recovery becomes much worse without it, and in game 3 of this set that difference in recovery quality is the reason D3 got the game-winning stock

@@GRIM0IREG00CH true in this set it did matter but i would chalk that up to monkaho's predictability with his elyctra. I've seen steves weave in and out and recover from crazy distances with up B alone. Though maybe gordo is a good counter to this

@@rubberwoody I main Dedede, and while I don’t think I could pull off edgeguarding anywhere close to D3’s level of skill, I can tell you that only having elytra there was a death sentence. One of Dedede’s key strengths is his edge guarding; ledge options are super risky against Dedede, not to mention there isn’t a hit box on elytra that could stop Gordo. The Minecart just being available in and of itself will scare most Dedede’s away from bolder options, but without iron, they have pretty much nothing to lose. Plus, the longer Steve spends not getting on stage, the more time they spend descending, and that will really hinder elytra’s options until it’s practically Pit’s without invulnerability.

If you play steve and get 3 stocked by a King DeDeDe you should just hang up the controller. The game cannot possibly get easier for you and still cant pull it off.

I was kind of thinking that, I could tell this guy plays/practices Steve but kinda lacked in some fundamentals (awful DI in key moments, throwing out unsafe smash attacks in neutral, etc)
