The fact that diddy kong has a tilt that is crazy frame data which leads into upsmash easily is OP. There is just some players that are good and some characters that are good. Its a big difference if your good as little mac compared to being “good” with diddy

I've got no stock in this, I'm terrible at the game, but it's kinda exposing yourself as a scrub moaning about Mac during this entire thing when the character is vastly outmatched in this matchup. The banana existing in itself makes this a living nightmare. The diddy for sure was completely robbed on the last stock from the falling out of upsmash, but those guys underselling the win at the end is kind of insane to me.

I don't think I've ever commented on a tourney video, but I want to ask: can we talk about the commentators/sportscasters? I feel like if you step back a few years, they talk about the players' movements and techs real-time, doing their best to hype up the viewers. Nowadays it feels more like I'm eavesdropping on a live watchalong of two high school buddies. I mean honestly ~2:30 is what prompted me to write this. Instead of complimenting the players, talking about the tourney, or even ANYTHING related to Smash Ultimate, they're rambling about a Minecraft song cover as Round 1 finishes. I would honestly rather prefer watching these on mute anymore.

I know it wasn’t the best commentary, but in all honesty these guys probably don’t get paid. (If they do it’s very little) It’s 11:40 at night. And personally I thought that they were entertaining to listen to. It’s just listening to two guys hang out and talk about mostly smash. Imo a lot better than listening to no commentary. Fr though that Minecraft song was random.

It's most definitely because it's a weekly/monthly local tourney, specifically one Peanut is a regular at. At some point the commentators probably get bored of repeating the same info ad nauseum for an entire tournament which is hosted every month. As someone else already mentioned, they're most likely volunteers or paid very little for a pretty long tournament. Additionally, it's not a major featuring tons of faces known across the entire Smash Ultimate community (except a fair few like Peanut, Pink Fresh, etc.), so there's not that much commentary to provide for the gameplay except "X is doing Y". Some commentators also simply.. don't know everything about each character to provide in-depth commentary for everyone. Most people don't even know Little Mac has a killthrow, for instance.

When I saw Peanut at 1 stock and over 129%, I was certain we were in line for another valient effort ending in a tragic loss. But then he takes a kill and it's 1 stock each. I still think Peanut's done for and I'm waiting for Generic to end his suffering, but then he misses and Peanut get's some damage. Then he misses and get's more damage. Then Generic misses again until their both on that platform and Peanut busts out the up-B clutching match and winning the tournament! What a way to end it all! Great job winning another tournament Peanut!

I think it’s because Generic has the better character in the matchup but managed to make plenty of mistakes that ultimately led to a clutch come-up from Peanut. I’d say it was less hate and much more disappointment that they felt towards Generic.

I personally heard a whole lot of respect and awe for Peanut. Maybe you think that because it sounded like the diddy player should’ve won, which is true. Buddy had the better character and so many opportunities to close out and win. He choked and Peanut won with his high IQ and patience (as they vocalize multiple times). They were disappointed in Generic’s low IQ, not biased against Peanut.
