There's no reason why you couldn't wear a cheap t-shirt for years. Price is irrelevant.

people forgot some clothes need to be hand washed softly. When you just dump everything into the washer it'll be ruined in a few wash.

If people had to pay the full lifecycle costs of these garments they would not be so cheap. They are only cheap because the companies don't have to pay to fix the damage they cause. This is just a classic issue of externalized costs. These companies don't really make the economy better.

At the thrift store that I used to work at, I always seen a lot of Shein clothing, and I always wondered why.

Realising the cost of fast fashion on our pockets and the environment I prefer to become a more conscious consumer and own less clothes but of high quality in the future to prolong the shelf life of the clothes and contribute to less burden on the environment by contributing to less dumping of clothes into landfills causing less environmental hazard and contributing to sustainability.

Is it my imagination or do clothes just appear to disintegrate after a few washes these days? I have a few old shirts that have lasted several years, but every new one I have bought in the last few years appear to only last a few months before holes or stretches appear.

The fashion industry way too shallow and generic today. What about choice of textiles, personal fashion assistance, styles, for ex. different cultural styles, feels like there's an opportunity to profit in other areas then just production.

Consume less, swap with friends or at swapping events, buy fewer, but better quality/locally/eco friendly made ans second hand (but also not too much, it’s also a massive industry). Skip fast fashion. But yeah, I get it: Temu etc. are so cheap… I try to only replace underwear and basics (with better stuff) and only second hand shop once a year, 2-3 pieces a year.

I don't necessarily like shein, but as a business, one can learn how or why it does well? For starters, they get ideas from everywhere, then produce small batches to test the water. They cut out the middleman as well. It's direct from factory to consumer. Somehow now that Zara, H & M, mango, all those western based fast fashion businesses can not find a way to compete, thus the bad mouthing and intentional smearing.

Apply VAT/tax surcharge to fashion items as such for electronic goods (in California) to fund recycling and research in repurposing the textile.

I see sunshades everywhere in this video. If you sewed unwanted clothes together, there’s a sunshade. Jeans and heavy fabric could be tote bags. I’ve seen carpet underlays in cars and houses made of shredded clothes. Buy fewer better clothes.

I have never been a fun of fast fashion or trends. I think people have been brainwashed to believe they have to belong somewhere or fit it that include designer brands. As those who are donating clothes, they are actually sold to 3rd World countries as second hand

Meanwhile I’m transitioning to more expensive higher quality clothes that last longer. Bamboo boxer briefs that are $20 a pair. $120 hoodie with lifetime guarantee. Thick heavy jeans that my wife patches as they wear out. Berkinstock sandals that can just have the cork replaced after 20 years. No, no, no. No fast fashion. Buy t shirts from American Giant. Wrangler jeans. Puma shoes (I’ve still never worn out a pair but resoled my fav pair twice for $10 each time. Use shoe goo to repair when he glue on clothes starts to come apart. Buy bamboo and cotton people. Avoid synthetics!

A lot of the higher quality clothes are not fashionable. The fashion police has arrested many people wearing Berkinstock with socks. Once you are shamed, you will turn to fast fashion.

Are More Expensive Clothes Actually Better Quality? - Hardly. We are paying more for the 'Brand Tag' rather than for 'quality'. Price is not the issue here. If the world want people to buy less cloths, just don't give too many option in - design, brand, quality, and color. In that case, I'm sure not many people will want to buy the same cloths that they already have unless they really need to replace it.

As a millennial I can say we believe SHEIN will make us hot and become instagram models.. also we’re broke. SHEIN gives you more quantity for your buck, (not quality) but I was looking for quantity… …. I’m defining my definition of quality as I age … anyway, great video!!
