I've been listenin to the growlers dicosgraphy from the earliest and up till this album no other track hits harder than this one. The lyrics are pure genius, I can't stress that part enough. The music? come on, this track has the funk, has the synths, has the froth, has the dirty, grimy, surfy guitar. Lovez!

I was listening to this album stoned out of my mind and it was so fucking intense, especially this song. It felt like everything in this song came to life and just made sense.

I had a white 1971 Maverick, just like this. It was my first real car. I also had it equipped with surf racks for the surfing adventures and misadventures (had a previous car purchased for $50, drove it home from surfing before I got my drivers license --pulled over by the fuzz. Whatever 70s make or model that was, it was impounded by said fuzz, I never saw it again). I remember one such surf misadventure coming home through Seal Beach in the Maverick (I was maybe 19) thinking how sucky life was, but as sucky as it got --to remind myself how interesting the sucky was. The alternative was....

I found these guys by watching Tonetta - 'Really Big Cock' that I heard on Joe Rogan's podcast. The next song that played was 'Pretend I'm Gay' by the growlers. I was hooked! The paths we take in life are interesting to ponder. One step to the left or right and the whole story ends completely differently. It's sad to think that I almost never would have heard about what has now become one of my absolute favorite bands. These guys are so cool and unique. The impact of a great band on someone's life cannot be measured, but I feel it's often overlooked and under estimated.
