I thought that it was going to be impossible, but I tried it and found that after a few minutes, that though it is a challenge, it is doable. Thank you so much for sharing it. I've learned so much from you and the other teachers at GMM. You guys are great! Keep up the good work.

This is a great exercise/warmup. Plus for improvising! You have always been my favorite instructor from GMM. I appreciate your patience & explaining everything step by step. I bought Six String Seduction a few year’s back and use that in my playing. You have completely changed the way I now look at the neck. I appreciate you very much!👊💯

thank you !! I've been playing for over 50 years as a hobby more less and have wanted to learn lead for a long time but your the best teacher yet to make it easy to show off some NICE riffs quickly.

My guitar teacher taught me the regular spider walk/alternate picking 20yrs ago and I thought I was so smart when I changed it by alternating the fret order to things like 1-3-2-4 or 1-4-2-3 but I can't believe I never thought about moving up a fret when moving to the next string, this just added a whole new dimension to my spider walk warm-up, thanks for sharing!

Thank you Eddie . I’m glad I’m studying with you. Just what I needed. Love the pic action. I’ve played for over five decades and played all over the world. I always picked with my fingers and rarely used a pic. My bucket list includes improving my lead guitar skills.❤

Very nice practice and warm-up technique. I was hoping for a little advice on thumb position and walk up. I don't always feel comfortable with thumb position. Thanks for your method videos!
@OnwardAndEdward10 ай бұрын
My rule of thumb (pin intended!) is to keep the thumb behind the neck, pressed somewhere near the middle. You’ll notice you don’t see my thumb peeking up behind the neck when I do the exercise, this keeps the range of motion at maximum. Hope that helps!
@ktm360210 ай бұрын
Thank you for your response. I have always been a little awkward with my thumb when playing lower single notes, I tend to get my hand cramped up. I believe this exercise will definitely help. Thanks again!@@OnwardAndEdward

I don't get the alternate picking to the double picking I slowed the video all the way down and I couldn't see the difference. What am I missing,granted it did sound a bit different but I couldn't see the difference.
@OHSHIETSON9 ай бұрын
Alternate picking is picking down on 1 note and picking up on the next note. Double picking is picking down and up on 1 note, doing the same for every note. Consider your fingers, 1, 2, 3 and 4. Alternate picking = pick down on 1, pick up on 2, pick down on 3, pick up on 4. Double picking = pick down then up on 1, pick down then up on 2, pick down then up on 3, pick down then up on 4.
