FYI: If you get an hassle about not pausing or copyright hassles, you should know that Ren fully supports reactors since he is independent artist and promoted himself organically. If you didn't know, he just finally got better with stem cell treatment in Canada so he put out the album Sick Boi and it went #1 in UK on album charts. He's been too sick to do concerts or music festivals but he seems to be getting better, so hopefully can do some concerts in US if his health keeps improving with stem cell treatments.

@@FUUSHNICKATV Even though they are different, I feel like Ren and NF have the same effect on people. It makes you reflect on life and what is important. When Ren said "the music I leave behind", I get choked up because I've been on this journey with him for over a year. I realize that he really didn't expect to be alive right now. He said he didn't think he would live past 30 and when he walked out into traffic because he had psychosis, then he told his mom that he didn't know if he could keep the will to live while he was bed ridden and losing his mind.

Ren is not only an amazing artist, he is a beautiful soul. I have been watching his work about two years now, and I am still amazed everytime I watch his "art". He is an artist. No genre, he sings tells stories whilst singing, he raps, he produces his own music, and you are correct IMO that IF he had stayed signed with sony as a young artist, and never got so ill, we would probably have a different Ren today. Still fu**ing talented, but different music. This REN, WOW! He has a large catalog of music you are going to love, I subbed to join you on the journey.

I SO agree! If Ren had been able to work with Sony or any other record company, they’d have stifled his genius and we wouldn’t have all that we have heard from him. Likewise, if he hadn’t lost Joe, he may never have had the fortitude to fight through all that he has gone through. I like to think that Joe’s SOUL understood and willingly gave up life in order for Ren to persevere and be heard by so many that need him and his music. It has affected so many!

It’s important to remember to not let Rene story overshadow his message. Yes, I’m sure much of this is reflective of his own struggles, but this also is very representative of the struggles we all endure. We all battle with our inner demons, our self doubt, our inner critic…. Having the courage to face it head on and accept that there is wisdom and strength in learning to balance the hopeful and realistic, the optimistic and pessimistic, the dreamer and the cynic… this is a challenge we all face. But like in sick boy he then turns the lens onto society as a whole and how we are pillaging the earth, and then introspectively as he is doing the same by using up all he has til there is nothing left of himself to give. There is always something deeper and usually introspective in his music.

Us renegades is a special type of community. That’s why we love Ren. I hope he is able to put out a new song soon, but I know that recently he had a relapse and had to go to the emergency room. He lost his sight in one of his eyes and was going through a lot of Pain. At the end of the month, he has to move back to Canada to undergo more treatment. So if he isn’t able to release a song, just be patient because he always bounces back.

It's great that you looked into Rens background.💞Here Ren is depicting the battle that most people go through, the devil and angel on the shoulder. He does have several mental illnesses , PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD,, but Multiple personality disorder (DID) isn't one of them. His psychosis which only lasted a few months,and most of the other ones, came from his battle with Lyme Disease where he had excruciating pain, years in bed, brain fog, and fatigue that none of us without these conditions can imagine. The Lyme disease also caused some brain damage. His songs seven sins and Troubles goes into more of this. It's a lot of info and it took me a while to fully understand his story. Also,, many think Sony dropped him. They parted amicably. His contract expired and as you've already said, he couldn't perform any more.

I have arguments with myself daily. Our nasty subconscious, battling everything we want to do, already did, or even have hopes of doing. We can't get away from ourselves, we are with ourselves all the time. We either get used to those arguments/disagreements/nasty words to ourselves on those really bad days or find some really smart, honest, trustworthy doctor that has a magic pill that calms us down to the point that being alone with ourselves fighting becomes more tolerable and easier to deal with. In the mean time we just struggle and hope the next day is a little better.

I am 75 years old, bad enough to fight with insomnia and now having my adult 49 year old daughter back home for an unspecified length of time. She is very difficult to live with and I am in agony daily now. I have physical health issues also to deal with, I certainly do NOT need another issue to deal with. But it is what it is. We can't put her out on the streets with no job, no money, coming from domestic abuse and a slight head concussion. It's a lot to deal with. I am actually amazed I haven't started throwing and breaking things, yet. :) Trying to do breathing exercises when the stress level rises after some earned tears.

I’m so confused. I’m pretty sure Ren was never in a mental hospital. Have I missed an interview or something. I thought most of Ren’s psychological problems were attributed to his Lyme disease.
