The Gukesh Simul Vlog | When Gukesh took on 21 Opponents Together

D Gukesh was up to a very tough task at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall today. He had to give a simultaneous exhibition against 21 players at the ChessBase India Chess Club, who had a very high rating average. The 16-year-old made it an even tougher challenge for himself by only taking an hour on the clock, while his opponents had 45 minutes each!
After a long and hard battle, the final score was 12.5-8.5 in Gukesh's favour at the clock simul. It was a fantastic evening for all the viewers and players - to interact with a super-GM is not an opportunity you get every day!

My Students, Kshatriya won and Vedant had a draw with Gukesh on Table no. 1 and 2, Thanks a lot Sagar for giving this opportunities to kids to play against Gukesh. You gotta give him 90 mins against 45 mins or give him an increment of 15-30 seconds. 1 hr on all boards is unfair and he's bound to lose on time in a few boards!

Gukesh had 1 hour, opponents had 45 minutes. If all opponents press clock at the same time, Gukesh will have only 3 minutes each for every board. That's why lost so many games. Otherwise he would have won every single game.

@@niteshm6 we all know Simul has it’s issues of walking , context switching etc , that does not mean you lose so many games . If he has issues he should play less players , next time he can play 100 players or only 7 players also that is his choice but he should ensure he maintains some consistency in his game .

Very nice event Sagar! Chess is so much more than just about the game. The venue, the context, the strong opponent, all make for a great event. If possible, next time, do a simul with 6 boards on screen. So that viewers can follow the full game. Especially the games that Gukesh lost.

pretty surehe played all 1300s or somethign like that, this simul had 2200s and 1300 was like 18th board?

Vidit opponent in Pune was not good enough and best one was 1600 rating . Also Vidit had not played with regular players . Vidit all 20 opponent was in job and has to work 9-5 or even more 5-6 days in a week
