This was lovely. It's a joy getting to meet Koneru, too, whom we've seen in the women's elite for ages but only as pictures and names. She always looks so stern and intense in pictures of her playing, and is such a beast at the board, that I was a little surprised she seemed so warm and relaxed here. It's great hearing from the rest of you, too. We miss Vidit, ofc. He'll be at the next dinner tho, I'm sure. Everything's already been said about Vishy so nothing more to add here :) The world roots for you, India! You're leading the next generation more than every other country, and we're here for it. Love and respect from USA

The most informal meeting that to a dinner meeting. Looks like kids trying to impress dad like a dad who seems normal on the outside, but has a really mean dark personality.😂

I think that Pragg is going even further. I also think and hope that he's even going to be world champion at some point... The coolest thing about him is just that he appears so relaxed. Even if he lost all of his games, I'd still just see this relaxed teen. He appears to (although I don't know much about chess) already be above Vishy Anand.

Western dominance especially American dominance is through foreign players lol Wesley- Phillipines Leiner Dominguez - Cuba Fabiano - Italy Hikaru - Japan Aronian - Armenia Fischer was the only American homegrown top player If anything Chess currently has a Indian/Russian dominance in terms of homegrown talent (a bunch of Russian players changed federation after war though like Kosteniuk, Alekssenko, Fedoseev and some not so strong players too. A similar brain drain was also seen after USSR's collapse.

fabiano literally was born in the US and hikaru moved here when he was just 2 years old. The US is a country founded on immigration especially for better opportunities. Nonetheless, immigrants are Americans through and through.
