Thanks! This is amazing footage. Almost saves me having to visit the crypt. Vienna has a lot of stuff like this. There is also the Vienna Central Cemetery, a truly huge affair, where a lot cultural and political personalities of the past 2 to 3 hundred years are buried.

Thanks for the kind comment. I haven’t been to Central Cemetery yet but it seems fascinating!

Yep! Like four generations of my family. We arrived in Wien before 1295 around the time they took a census of the city and surrounding countryside! All the best.

Fascinating! I was there years ago but I didn't know all of whom were buried there except for a few like Sissi. Very good, informative video.

Anyone visiting Vienna is strongly encouraged to visit the National Museum containing the Hapsburg Imperial jewelry. They are amazing! The Crown, the royal robes, the Imperial Orb and Sceptor and more. We're looking foward to our third visit. Thanks for sharing.

all of the europian royals are related, elizabeth the second was also married to her second cousin which can cause deformities

You did not mention Marie Antoinette. She was a prominent figure as well daughter of Maria Teresa.

Are these coffins Metall???
@ZekeMM254 ай бұрын
I believe that they're bronze or thin shells covering wooden coffins inside.
@rivenoak22 күн бұрын
sort of, out of necessity be aware all those caskets and sarcophagi are "inhabited" still; you use metal to contain the remains ....and the stench

Seems as though the Habsburgs had more accomplishments than the the Windsors, and with a great deal less internal chaos.
@alexanderdrummond76035 ай бұрын
They had a great deal of internal chaos -- much more than the Windsors, but then they were around longer. This glosses over and doesn't even address some of the more colourful characters.

1. The Habsburg family is now extinct 2. The House of Windsor (Saxe-Coburg-Gotha brittish branch) is extinct You can change names, but never blood!

@@juz3r1 put your hands on a book , the Habsburg-Lorraine are still well in Austria , I seen many times and meet Ferdinand Zvonimir Habsburg who is a racing car driver and head of the family name/house
