Narrated Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman: The people used to ask Allah's Messenger (ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him) about the good but I used to ask about bad should I be overtaken by it. So I said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him)! We were living in jahl, then Allah brought to us this good (Islam); will there be any bad after this good?" He said, "Yes." (Mutzailah? - Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings on him said best generation is the first 3, avg. age is 60 - 70 year. 11h. + 70 x 3 = 220h. when the Mutazila Mihna took place, Imam ibn Hanbal lived through is why Ibn Kathir states his mathhab is strongest with the Sunna...) I said, 'Will there be any good after that bad?" He replied, "Yes, but it will be marked'' I asked, "What will be it?" He replied, "Some will guide others not according to my tradition? You will approve of some of their deeds and disapprove of others." (Asharis/Mathhabists? - as Imam Ashari raised mutazila and as he aged became more Athari but his old views still spread mixing truth & falsehood - they had 3 cycles, Suljuks to cross - aids aided by she'a, Ayubids to Monguls aided by she'a & Uthmanis to europe aided by she'as...) I asked, "Will there be any bad after that good?" He replied, "Yes, some people calling at the gates of the Nar, and whoever will respond to their call, will be thrown by them into the Nar." I said, "O Allah s Apostle! Will you describe them to us?" He said, "They will be from our own people and will speak our language." (Ikwanis/yaqin? - a response to the fallen Ashari sufi Uthmanis with the same bida that fell them & more when Ibn Adbul Wahab's dawa could of saved them, ikwanis mix souphism, she'aism and masonry - as Sh. Albani said they treated the bad with the bad) I said, "What do you order me to do if such a state should take place in my life?" He said, "Stick to the group of Muslims and their Imam (ruler)." I said, "If there is neither a group of Muslims nor an Imam (ruler)?" us Muslims have to teach the right Aqida. Muslims have to teach correct Usul or principles and approach to understand and unite on Quran and sunna so they stay united and when they differ return to Quran sunnah and ijma to stay that way. They need to learn manhaj or priorities so they gain more than they lose and move forward together. If we are divided in belief we will be divided in acts but Allah preserved the din so why not return to it. Allah ties Tawhid to safety in Quran 24 :55 This is even in history, the Uthmanis peaked in 1680 under the Taymiyyan turks, and after they left and sufi grave worship bida took over they lost land and divided to secularism while the exiled Taymiyyan turks were teachers to the later gulf Sunni nations. At the same time we have to avoid Kawarij who call Muslims non Muslims for sins and divide and can't even answer if Najashi is Muslim... So history has its examples in salaf's time and even more recently why uniting on Quran and sunnah and sahaba is key. --- There is clarity in dawa. Islam is Tawhid & balance - Allah is over His Throne & His Attributes encompass creation like Surah 20 says. The ones of atheism like firaun deny Allah is over His Throne like in Quran 40.37 which is what Allah says after finishing creation in Quran 7.54. The idolaters say Allah is in creation. When salafis teach right Aqida, Allah is over His Throne corrects the false belief Allah is everywhere including najas we can't even do salat in, & pagans say if Allah exists in creation why can't He exist in idols and misguides. --- We ask Ahlul thikr in Q 21 :7 but excess taqlid is linked to shirk and clear ilm to tawhid in Quran 9 :31 & 12 :108. Ahl Sunna are mid path! All 4 mathhabs taught unity on evidence per Quran, not blind division! 1) Abu Hanifah : "It is prohibited (23) for someone who does not know my evidence to give verdicts (24) on the basis of my words." 2) Imam Malik : look into my opinions: all that agrees with the Book & Sunna, accept it; and all that does not agree with the Book and the Sunnah, ignore it." 3) Imam Shafi : "Muslims are unanimously agreed if a sunna is made clear to someone, it is not permitted (33) for him to leave it for the saying of anyone." 4) Imam Ahmad : "The opinion of Awzaa'i, Maalik, of Abu Haneefah: all of it is equal in my eyes. However, the proof is in the narrations (in the sunnah)." This is from the beautiful work of Sheikh Albani's Prophet prayer... *When we say Muhammadur Rasulalah it means our isnad ends with Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him whenever able!*

Jazaakallaahu khairan. ما أنا عليه اليوم وأصحابي The other hadeeth mentioning this phrase narrated by Anas radiyallaahu anhu and reported at-Tabaraanee appears to have an acceptable chain. Al-Albaanee determined one of its narrators to be unknown but others like al-Haithamee authenticated his narrations based on it looks like identifying him to be narrator judged to be reliable by al-Uqailee. Also, some scholars have said the weakening of Nu'aim ibn Hammaad's narration of this hadeeth is based on circular and incorrect reasoning. A good defence of him has been mounted by Shaykh Zubayr Alee Za'ee and others. And Allaah knows best.

The numbers are literal because it is mentioned in same hadeeth that bani israel had 72 sects while muslims will have 73 so its definitely a literal number. You can read the hadeeth which is self explanatory.

Mutawatir narrations in as the only daleel for the usul of aqeeda is the majority position of ahlusunna. That doesn't imply a rejection of mashur, aziz and ahad ahadith. A single narrator might err, forget or confuse something. On that basis no takfeer of a rejector of a single narration is warranted if he rejects it without any legitimate cause. Single narrations are ok in furu' of aqida and fiqh and history. Brother fareed himself highlighted the point that even a respectable scheikh in the time of the salaf is not infallible and might commit a mistake. The only case were ahad or single narration is a basis in the foundation of the aqeeda is in the case when the Prophet Salla Llahu'alaihi wassalam speaks directly to a sahabi who hears it with his own ears. It becomes qat'i for him. And Allah t knows best!

people take these "73" sect way too seriously. if we grouped muslims into all to sects today, all over the muslim world, there are probably thousands of sects that we can count. Now bear in mind Islam has been around for 14 centuries, go back in history and look at all the sects that exisited before that time. you''ll probably have to multiply the sects we have today multiple time. the sects we see today, salafs, tablighi jamat, ikhwani etc probably all fall in the same wider sect. just like ahl al sunnah branched off to many many sub sects, so too have ahl al bait.

Qadri deny Allah's siffat due to saying why doesn't Allah stop evil. Allah is Al Hakim as we see in story of Kidr things appear evil, Allah's Siffat help us understand others. The Mutzailah say each Attribute is a separate being like the idols in Quran 53.19. Khulab Asharis combine these 2 deviations, deny Allah's Siffat Qabr for their own pre conceived notions and see them as parts. Imam Ashari repented at the end of his life and became Athari. They rely on substance theory as their foundation and call it rationality, after that they filter the holy texts through this ''rational framework'', which in reality is Arestotelian/Greek philosphy.

Qayraish, Jurhum, Hawazin, waha, Tameem, Tait Yemen Abu Hatim says Qayraish, Hudayn, Tameem, al Azd, Rabiah, Wazan, Saad bin Bakr 20 :30 - Famous hadith 12 Caliphs. 24 :00 - becoming sects is test, and punishment 9 is it based on ayat they will differ save those Allah has mercy on?) not all sects maybe even. 30 :00 - yup Sahih Ahad hadith are in Aqida, not just mutawatir... In fact I'm sure there is mutawatir reports on one sahaba teaching Aqida like Muadh in Yemen & other examples etc. there are ppl who say they will reject sahaba for there mathhabs, thats completely wrong. example one was asked Sufyan Uyaynah did you hear this from so & so... he replied it was someone else in the middle. ahlul hadith were cautious with this. we don't just accept my sheikh says such and such. 37 :00 - Quality of ahlul hadith? they preserve hadith. These numbers should not be taken LITERALLY. 71 means 'a lot' 72 means 'much more than 71. i.e. thousands of xtian denominations. 73 means 'even more than the xtians'. Therefore, there are still many more sects to appear amongst Muslims. Similarly, 99 means innumerable beautiful Names of Allah SWT - known and unknown.

This hadith in the earliest generations IS mutawatir. Just because a hadith becomes weak in later generations due to a problem in the isnad (unknown narrator, etc) doesnt mean it was weak when the Companions (raa) narrated it.

Sufi's and Salafi's alike would use this Hadith for their own interests and then from within them you would have (splinter) groups that use this hadith again. This Hadith would rather point to ahmadiya, quranists, alawites, nation of islam and the like for they added or removed from the creed, thus placed themselves out of the folds of Islam. Unfortunately we find sectarianists explaining the Hadith in a manner to give credit to their super saved sect syndrome. It is not like you would find the Ahnaf placing the followers of the Maliki madhab outside of those who will be succesfull. It is so strange to see certain movements use a few Ahadith, this particular one from among them to champion division within a creed that is about unity. May Allah Guide us.

The 4 madhabs are no doubt from Ahle Sunnah With regards to the sects many don’t care about fiqhi rulings but about the belief in Aqeedah. If your aqeedah isn’t like the prophet ﷺ then we can see that Hadith be applied fairly الله أعلم

Ashari & sufi false principles & batini built away from dalil over time reinterpreting it away from sahabas, doing tawil whenever they Khulabis are like 1/2 shiuhs at times, shiuhs accept Quran compile by Sahaba but reject Sahaba's ijmaa on Abu Bakr, Asharis claim to follow salaf but reject the Ijma'a the Salaf were Athari including Imam Ashari who repented back to Athari as we see in his book Usul Dayana! --- people skip teaching the right Aqida is wrong, that is how the sahabas build themselves up first, in fact just ask how the last Caleef peaked & fell, in 1680 they peaked under Taymiyyan Turks teaching Tawhid and shunning shirk, but when they were exiled, Sufi grave worship took over... Allah tied Tawhid to safety in Quran 24 :55, the sufi Uthmanis lost land, divided , even infiltrated as they made up stuff anyone fit in... and became secular until wanting to remove Arabic and Jordan rose up backed by uk, the exiled Taymiyyan turks went south to Syria & their students taught Ibn Abdul Wahab whose later generations would form the sunni gulf nations today, like Saudi Qatar or Bahrain where Farid is from... and save the Haramain from uk and jordan... So where did the victory go... it went with the right Aqida... the correct Aqida is needed for victory in Quran 2 :137, Quran 9 : 25 shows numbers isn't the key to victory!

Brother some of the parenthesis is based on other hadiths including the numbers. As for deals with non Muslims, again Islam is a complete way of life, so we have to compare by that. Prophet Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him made deals and truces with the pagans in Mecca which is more sacred, some sahaba didn't understand it but does that mean divide no... not at all. As you can see I rely on the sunna as my example so I am against sects. 1st word in Quran is Iqra read and to many Muslims divide due to not understanding or culture. after Allah's mercy study can fix that. As Sh. Albani said we dont divide when we correct, we only point out the division to close it. May Allah guide us. Bismillah.

Muslims have ALWAYS claimed to follow "Qur'an and Sunnah". Only in recent times has this"slogan" been changed by the Salafi (inc. sub-continental ahliHadith) sectarians to "Qur'an and Sahih Hadith". And Farid, who belongs to the Salafi sect, added "narrations" as well. Remember this - the Sunnah was established by the Madhabs/Schools of Fiqh well before the hadith collections. We must not pick up Sahih Bukhari and start implementing whatever is written in there as the Sunnah. Doing this CREATES new Sects and Salafiyyah is indeed a collection of new sects.

brother mi khan i have a feeling that you dont know what sect is. sect is not the division between muslim about the sunnah of the prophet peace an blessings be upon him but the difference in aqeedah . so if you look into the madhabs you wont find difference in their belief but the sunnah so they are not sects nor groups . they also said to leave their sayings if we find it differing with the quran and the sunnah . so they were one sect or of the same sect . ALLAHU ALAM may ALLAH guide us. ameen

@@Voyage.001 - 1) it was / is IMPOSSIBLE to record every action or speech of rasulullah sallallahu alayhiwa sallam. 2) some of his (saw) actions are not available in any hadith BUT have reached us via the ACTIONS / amal of the first 3 Best Generations (and amal of Madinah) then recorded as Sunnah by the Madhabs. 3) the earliest Fuqaha/Mujtahid Imams whos Teachers were the Sahaba or the Tabieen had direct access to the Sunnah by just LOOKING at the actions of their Teachers and listening to them while the later Muhaddithen had to rely on what they heard or read via ahadith reaching them via many people. 4) Sunnah is the established, continuous, persistent, consistent FINAL actions/sayings of rasulullah salallahu alayhiwasallam as understood by the fuqaha of the first 3 Best Generations - the khayrulQuroon. 5) the actions of the 4 Rashidun Khalifas is also regarded as Sunnah. And this learning from the sahaba was not just from hadith but by practical examples /amal of living with them and watching them and listening to them retell of many events and stories that have never been written down but were known to them.

@@tawhid-thebaseofislam8216 - Salafis don't seem to realise or understand that what they regard as "just s Sunnah" or "only fiqhi issues" and then they go against that Sunnah, they have left the jama'ah of ahl asSunnah. Fiqh issues are also aqida issues especially when all 4 Schools of Fiqh/madhabs agree upon them. That is why wearing leather socks and Tarawih and muta marriage became an aqida issue between Sunnis and Shia. And when new Sects such as Salafiyyah pop up and start claiming that normal socks are OK & Tarawih is 8 rakahs & 3 talaqs is only 1 etc then these are aqida issues between Salafiyyah and ahl asSunnah walJama'ah.

Imam Malik Rahimahullah said everyon'e statement can be accepted or rejected, not the Prophet peace and blessings be upon him... Examples are plenty... Like Aisha and Umar discussing I think weeping over the grave. Abu Hurairah Lengthening his wudu on his arms which was questioned... I think ibn Masud or Ibn Abbas disagreeing with Abu Bakr & Umar regarding Hajj... etc. Sahabas correcting ibn Abbas on Muta... is Ibn Abbas a shiuh to you? See how you are inconsistent and lenient in dividing from the sunnah and extreme when you should be lenient as there is sunna... this is what happens when you don't know the sunnah or Aqida... "We must not pick up Sahih Bukhari " - so you say you reject the sunnah... then you can't speak about ahlul Sunnah, Bukhari was a student of his father who studied under Abdullah Mubarak companion of abu Hanifa & studied under Imam Ahmad directly, & there is a difference between hadith collector & faqih, Imam Bhukari is also a faqih - it's in his chapter headings, meaning he is both. who did you study under from the 4 mathhabs? "Madhabs/Schools of Fiqh" - All of them were Salafi & said Allah is over His Throne as an example... there students were the 6 hadith imams who were all Salafi... the founders of Tafsir, Tabari, Qurtubi & Ibn Kathir buried with ibn Taymiyyah were all Salafis... so what are you saying, you ignore Islam is a preserved religion and ignore sunnah?
