The Halifax Mussels: LGBTQ+ and Allies Hockey Group | Hockey for Everyone!

Our very own Lifemark chiropractor, Dr. Chuck Dauphinee created the Halifax Mussels hockey program, a 2SLGBTQIA+ and Allies Hockey Group. He saw the need for a space to learn and play hockey that values comfort, respect, and positive support.
With the motto “Come out of your shell!”, a snappy hockey stick bearing mascot for a logo and some support from the local hockey community, the Halifax Mussels were born. One of the things that makes the Mussels different from other hockey groups is low-barrier access. The team believes that anyone, regardless of socio-economic status, gender, orientation, race or skill level should have a chance to try #hockey.
