This script. I like the tower, the pool, etc. Different locations around the campus would have been cool for H20. The campus in the original H20 is basically a brick road, a door to drop some keys at, and the hallways.

@ItchyRedRobin I think the only thing they could have done to connect 4-6 indirectly would be to turn the “John” character into Jamie, and then H20 becomes an alternative timeline where there was no car crash and no Carruthers. That way, 4-6 aren’t erased, but rather a different branch off of Halloween 2, and the franchise embraces the “choose your own adventure” factor that it has become known for. This would have also made the John role a more dynamic character because the audience (particularly fans of 4-6) would know what “Jamie” could have gone through in the alternative timeline, and have a connection with her despite her living a different and more normal life in the H20 timeline.

I can remember this one time in grade 2, we had an assignment where the teacher told us to write down some of the things we like to do in the winter time. I wrote down stuff like snowball fights, building a snowman, sledding, and (as a joke that I intended to correct before handing in my paper) I wrote down building a snow "fart". Now, I was supposed to change it to, building a snow fort, but I completely forgot to do that, and handed in my paper with the word, snow fart. When I got the assignment back marked, the teacher had circled the word, fart. It was hilarious. That still makes me laugh, when I think about it, today.

Halloween H20 was said to be the best one since the first one by everyone that doesn't have individual thinking and just goes by what the critics say... Critically H20 was praised for the 10 years after it's release. The original Halloween II has lost respect while during the past decade Halloween 3 has gained more respect, it's weird... Halloween 4 was my personal favorite and a favorite by a lot of old school fans but time isn't being kind to Halloween 4 as it isn't getting the same love as it used to. And Hollywood or the fans lack interest in continuing that part of the series and bringing Danielle Harris back. They just keep bringing the same story of Jamie Lee Curtis, Laurie Strode over and over again.

Speaking on the music/composer situation. John Ottman was brought in to score H20. He wanted to do a Bernard Hermmann-esque take on the score. You can definitely hear that influence in the title track, which I LOVE. The studio was initially in support of this since there were so many illusions to Psycho/Horror history. It's fairly common for studios to throw in "temp Music" during the editing process so the team gets an idea of how the film will feel. Naturally, they went with Marco Beltrami's soundtrack from Scream because Dimension owned both franchises. Fast forward to one of the final screenings. Ottman finished the full score with an awesome Bernard Herrman, old school horror score. The Producers hear it for the first time with the new music, and freak out because they were so used to hearing Marco Beltrami’s score in. They thought the Old-school score wouldn’t appeal to younger audiences, so they ended up licensing the rights to use some of Beltrami’s score from Scream. But most of the film still has Ottman’s score. I really wish they had kept his stuff, because I thought it was cool as hell.

I read somewhere years ago (around 2006) that in this script they had a side note that Michael crushed Will’s (the bf) throat and put him in the mask and jumpsuit. And Michael put will’s clothes on that the body in the oven and burned the upper half so she couldn’t Id it properly and assume it was Will.

There was always a sequel planned. They even shot the beginning Resurrection footage while shooting H20. Jamie didn't receive this news until weeks before shooting, seeing how she only agreed to do the movie if it would be the last.

@@MJ-ex4nq I'm always for more Halloween movies, even if they suck. I liked H2018, and I expected a sequel. Laurie's granddaughter was holding onto the knife pretty hard, kinda like a young Michael, so there might be something with that. Although, my expectations aren't very high. Their motivations may just be a cash grab. 1 sequel, yeah, but back to back? It feels rushed. Unless it's actually a 2 part movie which couldn't be compressed into 1 showing. I loved the twists in H2018 (A psycho Dr Loomis, Michael killing children), so I'm sure the next 2 movies won't disappoint. Depends on if they plan on catering to the hardcore Halloween fans like they did H2018, or catering to the current generation (which could fail horribly like Resurrection).

Head To Soles I don’t think that’s true. I’m pretty sure I remember reading that they had to pay JLC like, 5 million for 2 days of shooting on Resurrection. I can’t imagine how the opening of Resurrection could be disguised as a scene from H2to trick JLC into filming it. Its waaaay to long and involved and offers no closure. Plus, there are union rules that prevent studios from pulling tricks like this (see: Superman and Superman 2).

In this movien the idea was that is was actually Tommy Doyle who was the killer thats why he spoke. They used a similar story in the comics where Laurie ends up becoming the killer and stalking Tommy. So they reversed it cause originally in the script was Tommy.

Keri kind of greeting everyone and going about her business, really reminds me a lot of the original when Laurie is walking to school. I like that in the first movie, Laurie is given a key to drop off, and in this script, Laurie is given a key to keep.

I don't get why the opening of H20 and really the whole movie in general is seen by so many as copying Scream. Scream didn't do anything new by having the movie open with a kill. So many horror movies do that. Almost all the Friday the 13th's open with a kill (if not all of them), and heck the original Halloween itself opens with a kill. The only thing Scream did any different was market the movie like Drew Barrymore was going to be the star, and then they killed her off in the opening. No one killed in H20's opening was thought to be the star of the movie. As far as the teen angsty thing goes, don't almost all horror movies have that? The teens in H20 act like teenagers from any other movie during that time period. The only thing that sets them apart from say teens in the 80's is the time period. The only thing I think any of the late 90's horror movies were guilty of (all the ones so often accused of ripping off Scream) is of coming out in that time period and of trying to tap into the audience that made Scream a hit. Most of those movies probably wouldn't have even existed if not for the horror resurgence brought about by Scream, and since Hollywood realized that there was a market for those type of movies of course they were going to try to profit off of that, but aside from that I fail to see what makes so many people say that they were copying Scream when all they do is follow the same basic formula that all slashers follow. The only thing that even makes them comparable to Scream is that they are from the 90's, and they come after Scream, and since Scream was responsible for the resurgence, and was the first real horror hit of the 90's, everything else gets accused of copying it, but I disagree. I value Scream because it's a damn good movie, and I realize that without it I never would have gotten all these other great horror movies. Prior to Scream horror was dead. Scream brought horror back, but every single movie thereafter can't just always be accused of copying it. Every movie copies something. Scream wouldn't even exist without all the horror movies that came before it. Heck Scream is itself essentially a commentary on the horror genre, and they couldn't even get that right. Near the end where the characters are watching the original Halloween you can hear them commenting on how the blood looks too red. The only problem with that being that they're watching Bob's death scene, and in that scene no blood is visible. In fact Halloween is famous for having very little blood. I love Scream, but it's unfair to accuse every other late 90's horror movie of copying it when Scream itself was far from perfect.

I wish they mentioned briefly the events in 4-6. Like when Laurie is telling Will about her past, she could have said that she left her daughter behind to protect her, and she died, but they never found her killer, but she thinks it was her brother. Which is why she's so over protective.

Fun fact: there is actually a three part issue comic ofHalloween called Chaos Comics Halloween, that just so happens to bridge the gap between Halloween 4-6 and H20 and take place in the same universe, canceling out Resurrection. In this comic there is a twist that comes out of no-where at the end of the third issue that I shouldn’t give away!!! Go check it out cause it’s available to read online.

What you're referring to is a novelization; NOT a novel. There's a big difference. The original source material is Carpenter's and Hill's script. After the film was made Trancas hired a writer to adapt the film into a novel. That was kind of standard in those days, and even happens with huge films today.

Cool vid. Although I have to say, John was actually 16 in H20 as well. He just turned 17 in the film, that's why Michael returned, (as Laurie was 17 when he attacked her and IIRC the eldest sister was 17 when he killed her). I have to go with H20 because it's my favorite Halloween film, also being the the first one I saw that got me into the series, (and no that's not why I like it the best, I really do find it to be the best film). It's the perfect ending to the series, (and did the Laurie vs. Michael waaaay better than 2018) even though no one really wants to see Michael die, (one of the few things Resurrection did right even though it did Laurie extremely dirty).

I love Kevin Williamson's writing. Also guys, he did in fact write I know what u did last summer fyi lol Guilty pleasure movie of mine and also this one. I love the brother, sister fight scenes. Yes she is not the strongest but the adrenaline inside of her was like when a kid is trapped under a car and the kid's mama is able to lift the car off of the kid, that kind of adrenaline strength lol Tina was always a fave Halloween character of mine. Sucks that she was stabbed but they never technically said she died. Why can't Tina come back???!!!! Also, love u guys ur funny as hell and so entertaining. From one movie geek to another, love u guys xoxo

H2O is a clean 90ish inspired movie about a dysfunctional family that doesn't want to confront thier "Uncle" that has been in a psychiatric hospital for over 20 years coming home to visit in.

Imma still gonna have to go with the H20 we got. It sounds like Laurie isn't as interesting or well written in this one and that's the main strength of H20 for me. The pool scenes sound badass though!

That's a nice new Bad Religion shirt, or at least it looks new. I went to Camp Anarchy this year and they did AMAZING! Also saw Rancid, NoFX, Suicide Machines, Less Than Jake, X, Suicidal Tendencies, Off!, and sooo many more.
