“Halloween” has been a staple of the spookiest season ever since John Carpenter unleashed the unrelenting monster Michael Myers on an unsuspecting suburban town in 1978. The man in the mask went from boy-murderer to indestructible killing machine, seemingly always drawn back to one person, his surviving sister Laurie Strode. Played by the incomparable Jamie Lee Curtis, fans have delighted in the (many) returns of Strode always flipping the traditional slasher script from victim to survivor. We spoke to the actress, who returns in David Gordon Green’s “Halloween Kills,” the second film in the trilogy.

I always have this fear of stepping on lightbulb glass or getting punctured by it because I would think of the little shards that'd be left in the wound, so that scene was definitely disturbing for me, which in this case is a good thing because it's a slasher lol. Imo, best and most inventive kill in the movie.

Cameron takes the cake. Easily. It may not have been gory but it's so drawn out and the intention to completely paralyze him, completely destroying his body to further torment Allyson... Then to finish off with one of the most disturbing neck snaps I have ever seen... The way his hands slowly approach his head, as if someone who would be cautious against you vulnerable state, just adds insult to injury. It's not only brutal but it's so heart wrenching. He reedemed himself hugely in this film, patched things up with Allyson and just saw his dad's dead corpse... One of the most emotional deaths in the series. And Cameron was actually my third favourite character in the film, beside Michael and Allyson. I've never actually felt physically sick and horribly anxious with any other kill in the franchise, or even any other film for that matter.

It was awful to watch in a way but IMO, well done in the way that Michael understood what he was doing “possibly” but also was playing with his prey like a cat with a mouse. It was interesting seeing him in an almost behind the scenes way where he finishes the kills and interacts with the kills afterwards which we’ve never really seen. Him specifically picking knives for the pin cushion scene was also unnerving for many people but, it made me realize just how much they have instilled this mentality of he’s still a 6 year old trapped by evil incarnate in a grown mans body, it was oddly refreshing.

It reminded me of disturbing footage that you'd see in nature shows of a wild cat like a Lion or Tiger attacking its prey, it toys with it, maiming it and you're thinking "damn, that poor animal is pretty fucked" then it delivers the killing blow and you're shocked but glad its suffering is over. The knife thing was also interesting, seeing him actually in the middle of his "arts and crafts" 😬

@@TheOneWhoLaughs101 I feel the same, the worst for me was hearing Cameron’s cries, and moans when Michael first left him to go down the stairway to Allison... it was honestly haunting, they did a good job portraying a more realistic death for him and in that instance it was rough to watch. Karen’s end however was kinda bad IMO only because of what we had already seen and how they tried to connect us more to her character leading up to it. I do hope the original ending on the blu ray is better but, that ending just felt like production interference. Tbh I’ve never stood up and left a theater faster after a movie that I genuinely wanted to see ended, it just felt done. Weird feeling.

Mate, I was pissed when Nurse Marion Chambers died. She’s such a big character, yet gets one line in this movie, that being: “This is for Dr. Loomis!”, then tries to shoot Michael but realises she has no bullets, then just gets stabbed multiple times. What a waste of a legendary character, played by the actor from the original and H20, Nancy Stephens. Kyle Richards came back as Lindsey Wallace (who was also in the original). She survived, but still I’m so annoyed that she didn’t really have a major role, either.
