With the fate of the champion’s rumble depending on the results of this one match, the second-to-last match of the season pits the most notorious Halloween characters together to fill in that final slot. We recognize a majority of these figures from some of our favorite horror movies and other forms of media, a select few were created specifically just for this match, and at least one competitor was so desperate to get into the champion’s rumble he filled in two spots (Whomever would’ve been the thirtieth entry got screwed so badly). A match that normally has thirty superstars involved instead featured 29 figures, but at the very least that left one less concerning obstacle for the roster in this bout. When it came to one of the longest minutes with the final five of the night, one notable Halloween figure would emerge as the final entrant of the upcoming champion’s rumble. Jason Voorhees, the main attraction of the ‘Friday the 13th’ film franchise and arguably among the most famous CAW wrestlers in CAW history. Coincidentally, Friday the 13th is tomorrow as of this posting and what a way for Jason to make his way toward the bloodiest night of his career than a victory over his fellow serial killers and monsters. We’ve seen Jason’s name featured numerous times in this series, but he rarely ever came close to winning one of these rumbles and much less featured himself in the champion’s finale. When it came down to a one-on-one fight pitting himself against Victor Crowley, two figures both portrayed by Kane Hodder, experience worked in favor for Voorhees, and he was able to remove one of the most dominant competitors of this match to win a chance to become a champion. Given how dominant Jason has been throughout the history of CAW wrestling, could this be the very season where he wins a champion’s rumble? Who was my MVP of this Halloween rumble? Let’s get down to the numbers: Of the twenty-nine competitors featured in this match, only FOURTEEN competitors secured the most eliminations. The highest count of the night reached ‘6’ eliminations, which is five points higher than the average ‘1’ elimination. I give the Golden MVP Award for ‘coolest’ performance to: Grim Foxy For those wondering about the story surrounding this figure, this essentially is the very same Foxy from ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’… only scarier. Of the animatronics from the franchise featured in this match, Foxy proved to be such a dominant force right from the get-go. With an official movie on its way to theaters this year, my Halloween plans will involve seeing this movie and determining if it’s as frightening as some of the games were. While this character was no Roxanne Wolf by any means, Foxy Grim almost had this match won and he should have no shame over how he performed. The nominees for the Dull Participation Medal for the ‘lamest’ performance are: Nightmare Freddy Dracula Both competitors never really had an opportunity to really prove what a threat they could be in this bout. Count Orlok who essentially was another rendition of Dracula had a more impressive run than Bram Stoker’s greatest creation in his literary career. But if I had to pick and choose whom I felt performed the worst based on length, whereas Grim Foxy was a huge success Nightmare Freddy had a ‘nightmarish’ performance but not in a good way. When a fellow animatronic ends up lasting longer than the supposed star attraction of the franchise, something is gravely wrong. Now with all the slots filled and with maybe a week or longer before the upcoming champion’s rumble, Jason Voorhees joins a long line of competitors all vying to beat Carl Winslow and become the Season 8 champion. With the arrival of the champion’s rumble, some questions are left to answer: Is Cody Rhodes officially in the rumble since his teammate and father Dusty won it? Does Mr. Perfect officially have a spot after Eddie Guerrero won two rumbles this season? Will such a feat earn Eddie Guerrero a huge advantage, like entering last? But the biggest question of them all: Who will become the Season 8 Ricky J. rumble champion? P.S. That’s Frankenstein’s ‘Monster’, he is not called ‘Frankenstein’. If you wanted Frankenstein, you wanted the doctor not his infamous creation, who has no name. Unless someone decides to make a Frankenstein who’s both the monster and a scientist, I don’t know if that’s been done yet. I’m sorry nitpicking, but it really drives me nuts.
