White Murph is a stunner in person. I was fortunate to be given an appointment at the boutique and it did not disappoint. Knew I wanted the white dial as I have many dark dials but its simplicity and aesthetics plus lineage just spoke to me. That’s what it’s about. I was gifted the white dial version for Christmas by my Dad. Watching this video, I might have gone for the original black dial but having the white in person, it is stunning, pictures and video don’t do it Justice. The texture, the juxtaposition of the numbers on against the dial, the cathedral hands, I can’t stop staring at it. I also love that it might not have been the one I’d have chosen for myself, now every time I look at it, it makes me think of my Dad. Pretty fitting for this specific watch 😅 btw I hope they make the bracelet available on its own soon, it looked great with the white dial!

I own the 42mm Murph, the most versatile watch in my collection.I am wearing it as I am typing this comment. the watch is Simple , no complication , low key but beautiful. I wish Hamilton could release it with an anti-reflective coating; that's my only issue with it. In my humble opinion, the white would look great with black numerals (it looks kinda hard to read)

I had the same thought about the white dial. I am hesitating. It'd for sure look amazing, but I am thinking that the murphs personality goes better without harsh contrast. Plus I see how it goes back to older military watches from the brand to get the colours. Wpuld be good to see it!

Between the quick release and polished inner edges on the links of the bracelet, and the additional hole for micro adjust and polished edge on the clasp, I wish they had this bracelet for the Khaki Field Auto. The only thing is the bracelet should have female end links.

Teddy, Thanks for the video. I love your perspectives and dedication resulting in such quality videos. Please don't get me wrong, I love Hamilton watches. I own a Khaki Field Officer and two vintage Hamiltons that I purchased non-working and brought back from the dead (it is a hobby). However, I have a hard time with the pricing on new Hamiltons (not to mention Rolex, Omega, etc.), even with the heritage, etc. I know that many of your other fans will call for my head, but I recently purchased a Tandorio diver. It looks so much like the Khaki it is probably an homage (but I don't think it is marketed that way). It has the NH35A workhorse movement and comes in many different dial selections. The best thing was it was only $45.00 (yes, not a typo). I still love Hamilton and will continue to look for them (a Ventura mechanical is on my bucket list) but I like this other so much I just had to comment. To answer any questions, no, I do not work for them, am not associated with them in any way, nor am I getting any promotion or recompense for naming them. I just truly love that watch and thought I would share for those who like the Khaki but possibly can't afford one. Keep up the great work! I look forward to your videos.

And from a Baby Alpinist owner's perspective who is ordering BOR bracelet, the bracelet is disappointing, they can taper or make it thinner, flatter, whatever, just to make it less chunky. This is a very exciting release. Although I have several black dial field watches, including some in the same vein like the gray baby SBP159 Alpinist (on Seiko Alpinist bracelet), Seiko SZSB006 (TicTAC), blue Alpinist, and Monta Triumph, I am really drawn to the Murph 38 on bracelet. It looks fantastic in that combination. Having the Hamilton "Cooper" already as well would make this a great pairing. The Hamilton bracelets in that ~$1K range are not mind blowing, but very nice. Quick release is the cherry on top here, especially since we know the Murph works so well on a variety of straps. I am a little surprised the white is not available on bracelet as well, but 1) It doesn't look as good as the black on bracelet 2) If the Khaki Expedition is anything to go by, Hamilton will add the bracelet to the white dial at a later date.

If a watch is going to be useful for me, it has to have a date window, because I use it every day at work. That being said, I'd love to be able to add a 42mm Murph to my collection. My preferred watches are all at least 41mm in diameter - that's just what feels the most comfortable for me, so the 38mm Murphs aren't for me, but it's great, that Hamilton is extending the Murph "family". The texture on the white dial looks great. I wouldn't mind if something similar was available with black watch dials in general.

The Murph is absolutely fantastic, and 38mm is the perfect size for it. I was one of the many that were so glad they came out with the reduced size and ordered immediately. (Although it wasn’t really the case size that was the issue with the 42mm, it was the L2L). It’s very hard to get more value out of $1K in the watch world.
