This show lasted five episodes, and it was short lived. This was HB’s blatant attempt at a TV variety show outside of cartoons. It had a handful of guest stars on there during a 5-week run, and the songs were quite good. The “Hanna-Barbera Happy Hour” doesn’t hold a candle to other TV variety shows like “The Carol Burnett Show”, “Donnie & Marie”, “Sonny & Cher Show”, “The Muppet Show” and others. But sadly, WB never released the complete 5-episode series on home media as part of the “Warner Archive” series, because of their guest appearances and musical performances wanted their residuals. This show fell into obscurity, but out of the five episodes produced, this is the only episode of the “Hanna-Barbera Happy Hour” has been found, the other four remains lost. And another thing, this episode doesn’t have the “Rainbow HB” logo at the very end. 21:06 is where the musical number got cut out due to copyright issues. This was HB’s blatant attempt at a TV variety show which doesn’t seem to hold a candle to the “Brady Bunch Hour”, “The Sonny & Cher Show”, “Donny & Marie Show”, “The Carol Burnett Show” and of course, “The Muppet Show”. This show lasted five episodes on NBC and it was a terrible idea for Hanna-Barbera putting a cash grab for a TV variety show which was completely doomed from the start. HB did had a handful of live action stuff outside of cartoons, so why not a variety show that got canned. This is the only episode of a short lived HB live action TV show that does exists. The other four episodes were lost in the shuffle, but this was the only one that it was made on a studio master tape.
