@@johndaroza8917 Have you been successful at backing the RSV4 in to a corner? I have a 17' RF myself and have been playing around with stepping the rear tire out on hard braking just to see if I can do it. I'm curious how easy it is to do with the ape, compared to other superbikes
@Trainsk85 жыл бұрын
@@johndaroza8917 I think I know what you mean about the grip and turn in. I came from an 09 CBR600RR with a well set up suspension and when I got the aprilia I could really feel the difference in the chassis. It's really the first bike I've had had where it feels like the front tire is actually pulling you around the corner. Talk about confidence inspiring lol I started doing a lot more trail braking recently and it's nice having that feel. And that's pretty cool you were able to back it in, I'm sure riding those Hondas helped you build up that feel for it. I know my 600 was a really easy bike to ride hard and I rode a buddy's cbr1000rr last year, actually a 2012 as well. And I really enjoyed how it handled, turned in very easily
@VOLITANT5 жыл бұрын
@@Trainsk8 backing a bike in on a corner isn't using the rear brake to skid, you need to down shift and engine brake hard enough to make the back wheel not lock up but just start braking traction, applying front brake to shift the weight off the rear wheel to the front will help also
@Trainsk85 жыл бұрын
@@VOLITANT I never actually said anything about using the rear brake. I did mention trail braking but that's actually using the front brake to increase the contact patch going into the corner although you can add some rear in there and see how you like it. But you are correct though, it sounds like the key is getting the rear light on hard breaking and using the engine braking to just slow down the rear tire a bit

What a GREAT perspective! I’m a serious auto racing fan but I have to admit two-wheels is a whole other thing. To see how often the single steered tire is not even in contact with the pavement during a road course lap, well, you just have to salute the skill and courage involved. Moto GP is, for me, the king of motorsport. I’m pretty sure even the geniuses of F1 would agree.

@skyeth42525 жыл бұрын
Act in street it depends to ur situation the road conditions & the corner, ur speed n ur position..if it sharp turn then u need to shift after the corner.. But if it a big corner n u need to accelerate for leaning more then u can shifting in the corner ... Just remember rule on the street n track are different.. Ride safe mate

There is a reason there are two massive discs on the front wheel and one tiny disk on the rear. MM is the best because of what he can do with the front tire. The rear slides and spins, it’s the front that HAS to hold- and whoever can get the front to hold the best is the fastest.
@ratti805 жыл бұрын
Bob Bennett There is a reason why the rear is more than double the size of the front tyre! Because you need more grip on the rear due to a “harder life”. When you accelerate you need to keep the front wheel down to be quicker. So you put much wait in front! The rear wheel is much more under pressure. The only time the front wheel is under pressure is when you break before a turn. Then the weight goes in front! But overall, as you can clearly sea in the video, the front tyre is a lot in the air or only marginally touching (and having grip) with the track. I hope you understand it now.
