All awesome bands in the video, obviously. Didn't expect otherwise ;-) HOWEVER : Sick Of It All should be on there. I've seen them live a ton of times now, and they have never disappointed. I agree they're not that easy to listen to digitally, but their liveshows are something that sets them apart, despite being on larger stages the past 10 or so years. They're going strong since 1986 and have sooooo much energy. Also, Stick To Your Guns is a must in every HC list, because of their lyrics, engagement, energy ... They're a band that can really pull you through on difficult days and their live performances are insane. As a Belgian HC-kid, I've been blessed with some massively unkown hardcore bands in my region, so make sure to check out Congress, Arkangel, Liar, Born From Pain, Backfire, and Angel Crew. Became a fan of hardcore punk literally 3 weeks ago. Did my research and bought like 10 cd's lol like Bad Brains, DRI, circle jerks, Suicidal tendencies, minor, mdc, but my favorite album so far is 7 seconds alt hardcore compilation. So good. I really enjoy teen idles, uniform choice, gang green, and wasted youth, this is Boston not LA and dischord comps. This is all coming from a Huge techno/House, hip hop, metal guy lol Love the speed and musical talent of the genre, with the raw! Would love some more recommendations

Maybe I've missed it along the way, but I've been dying to hear you mention Glassjaw and your thoughts about them for a while now.

You're right about have hearts reunion boost of popularity. They had 300 people at the Atlanta date of the farewell tour, and 10 thousand at the reunion!

IMO 3 greatest early HC albums are Bad Brains debut, Minor Threat 2 EP's on 1 LP and Jerry's Kids Is This My World? Good vid, mate.

Really cool video. You mentioned bands that i love and listen almost everyday. Just want to leave 3 nice Portuguese Hardcore bands... Devil In Me, For The Glory, and Reality Slap, search them and enjoy. Great respect from Portugal...

Have Heart were very popular in Australia or at least in Brisbane, where I'm from. When they came to Brisbane on their worldwide farewell tour in 2009, the venue (Princess Theatre - RIP) was the most packed i had ever seen it. One of the craziest show i ever went to. I'd go see them in a heart beat if they came back here.

Love the modern hardcore sound. Obnoxiously heavy. Basically deathcore that leans more on hardcore.

Liking your videos a lot, I didn't know much about Hardcore, not my style, but I thought it was like Helmet. I like the sound of Earth Crisis and Madball out of these - good stuff!

coming from someone who was around hardcore but disliked a lot of hardcore around 2007-12 .. have heart is absolutely one of the only hardcore bands loved & respected by none typical hardcore fans. a lot of people that were put off by the masc toxic energy of terror loved have heart.

Good list, still reminding about finnish HC and it’s influence, like Rattus etc.

This was super helpful to get a feel for the history of the genre and I heard lots of shit I want to check out some more. Thanks for this!

It's funny how the general public thinks hardcore died after minor threat and BF broke up. Bridge Nine and HH were such a big deal up here in New England in the late 2000's. Very glad that Boston hardcore is still a huge part of people's lives

I was just at sound and fury and it was wild to be at 5k cap hardcore show with only 1 legacy band (terror) who didn’t headline. It was a lot of fun and refreshing.

For me it's was early Agnostic Front, early Sick of it All, Judge, Gorilla Biscuits, Slapshot, Minor Threat, and early Suicidal Tendencies. Of course there other good HC bands too.

A good start-up kit, for sure. Start Today is definitely one of my favs. Although, as much as I love Suicidal, as a Southerner, there is only one ultimate crossover band and record and that's Animosity by COC.

Eye for Eye is a good album from COC. You can hear the directions they would later go. I think they said one of their songs is just Sabbath sped up.
