My mom was in this scene as an extra, standing beside Jimmy Cliff, while enjoying Toots and Maytal. RIP, Toots

I have watched this film over 100 times, my kids have watched it and my grandkids will no doubt watch it. But i read through the comments on here and had to go back and see your mum at 2.10. Your mum is a legend and she is beautiful. What a privilege. It would be good to have heard her account of that entire experience. This is a cult film with a global following. At 55 I have been watching this film in the UK from my eyes were at my knees, it is part of our heritage. The real life Ivan 'Rygin' was apparently my father's family.

Toots Hibbert and the Maytal what a beautiful person, the happiness and joy of him singing Sweet & Dandy on the Harder They Come clip is truly mesmerising, melodic and effortless delivery. He is so humble, watching his concert performance he was always full of energy enjoying every moment when he performed. I just love the way he does his beautiful little dance move while singing Sweet and Dandy during that clip. I could watch that clip over and over again. I still get shivers down my spine when I see and hear the talent in this legendary film from the the early 70s. Jimmy Cliff, Toots and the Maytals, and every Tom, Dick and Harry had a part to play and they shone! still feels like Jamaicans were shortchanged here, so many extraordinary world class talented young people on that tiny Caribbean island. They can do anything! It’s a great pity so much politics, corruption in the way. RIP Nathaniel Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert.
