The Hardest Climb In the Alps?! // Mortirolo Pass

Video from our ride over the Mortirolo pass and the Gavia pass a few days ago. Felt awful before starting the climb, it was really steep at 11% for 11km but felt much better somehow by the top! Sometimes you need a bit of time to get warmed up. We then rode back to bormio over the backside of Gavia pass which was another tough climb in the heat and at high elevation! It definitely took it out of me the next day though, we were all cooked!!

It's more brutal than zoncolan,zoncolan is steeper but not as consistently steep, did it 2019 as the final part of my one day stelvio-gavia-mortirolo , it was a blast !

You are correct did morirolo and zoncolan within a week. Zone is steeper but not consistently so ,mortirolo is consistently steep and higher altitude. The tovo st agata route makes mazzo seem easy. It was done giro 2012? It has serated concrete and drainage channels that rob momentum when it's 23%! Although it does have a flat section ,then the sucker punch to join turn 6-7 on mazzo road. Irrespective after mortirolo there are no more hills!
