I was surprised to see a musician of your caliber analyzing the technique of another drummer. Not in a bad way, but it shows that the best ARE the best because they are constantly learning. This was like watching a mini Buddy Rich. Such a different style to yours and without a lot of the equipment. I laughed so much when I watched Whiplash. I understand Spanish very well, I speak it very well, but this guy talks in his native language how about as fast as his drumming and I had to rewind it several times and eventually I gave up and I just started reading the subtitles. Even his R's roll so fast without paradidling! Does he do everything so fast? I mean, while everybody is barely digging into their dinner, is he already asking for the check? And I don't want to get into his personal affairs because I love this guy and I respect him. But I even wonder if he hears the words...hey!! Wait a minute. That's it?? Quite often.
