NBA Vets Explain The HARDEST Part Of Being An NBA Rookie as Gilbert Arenas & The Gil's Arena Crew discuss Victor Wembanyama's rookie season and describe how the physical transition to the NBA is much easier than the mental adjustment for rookie phenoms like Wemby and Chet Holmgren.
Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

The hardest part is clearly coming up with meaningful answers for the media's dumb questions 😂

The “media” posed the initial question that Gil and Co. are analyzing though. How ironic.

When I watch these player interviews, I can't help but lament when the reporters were actually reporters. Now its predominantly guys who just rolled out of bed after playing video games all night/day and threw on a hoodie and stuck their phone in front of the players to capture the sound bite.

Holding him back for the adjustment time of the cerebral calibration for off court/on court American psyche' stressors has got to stop. Since there are no 7'0" centers at the Center position on every team playing 40 minutes a game as one of the dominant positions it's already no longer a challenge for Victor Wembanyama. (Play defense, including hand checking, and call a fair game.) Just pick the game to give him the ball every play and find out if he can score 100 or more. 😎

How is Gil such a presence in the NBA video world? He did some scoring no doubt but other that throwing up numbers for himself he was nothing. Agent zero is a perfect name for him cuz he did nothing but pump his own ego.

he made the wizards relevant right after jordan left. he did what jordan couldnt do and get them to the post season and be a legit threat for at least 3 years. you seen the wizards since him, trash. before him, trash. you may have been too young but people we're actually buying his shoes, jersey, and saying his catchphrases on the court. he torched everyones favorite players at the time and became all nba allstar as a second round pick. how many. first round and lottery picks never even come close to what he accomplished? if not for the injury he has at least two more all nba selections and prob 4 allstar while breaking scoring records.

Some of you NBA fans are so weird. Like yall really be shitting on players cause they are ringless or not in the HOF. Then yall forget players who were actually really really good, in favor of talking about rings and MVPs. So strange. If you enjoy the game of basketball, you know Gil was top tier when he was healthy and on the wizards.

Your talking from a team aspect .. individually gil is one of the most offensively gifted PG ever .. that counts for something. He's ex pro player because he didn't win he can't break down the game ? Oh so you telling me only former champions can speak on the game ? That's BS

Its how he likes it. One of his personal trainers was assigned to the team and probably knows vic’s body just as well as victor himself, and they’re close ofc. Once he gets older he will be more independent. He hasn’t even been here for a year long yet man😅, let those experienced staff and coach guide him if he needs. Also if you look at america as a foreigner, he is gonna be bron/steph level in bball status where they probably gonna need security everywhere they go aswell. He’s dedicated to making sure he can do everything in his power to win asap alongsides the spurs/wherever else he plays. He is super family oriented and as a spurs fan, theres not been a peep of him wanting to stand out more than he does with media😂 we’ll see tho
