Nice man. You sacrifaced for us, carrying even that small camera inside must have been really hard. What an amazing structure. Hard to beleieve there are so few rooms in there.

Well done sir, amazing work with your camera 👏 I just did this today and can safely say it’s the toughest of the pyramids I’ve taken on. I’m a 5’10’ man of 67 and, like you, I came to it after tackling the Red Pyramid nearby. I’m pretty pleased with myself for what I achieved today, but totally blown away by the interior structures I witnessed along the way. These things are literally fantastic and awesome! 😮

It's stunning seeing the smooth casing of the Bent Pyramid because other pyramids have had had theirs removed over the millennia. Even more impressive that it survived on one of the oldest pyramids in Egypt.

What amazes me is can you imagine without without the Stairs when it was 1st built. I really wonder what purpose the Pyramid serve? By that I mean who designed it and who was the Foreman During the built? Just absolutely amazing. Thank you Sam for your content for showing us 1st hand inside inside the great pyramids and the bent pyramids. I've always seen illustrations of how the chambers were connected but not footage like this.

Really enjoyed this. That said, rather you went in than I! Could not have done it. Grateful that you did, and filmed it for the rest of us. I live in an earthquake prone zone, parts of Egypt get them, as well (just ask the Lighthouse!), so that would have weighed heavily on my mind going in those tiny shafts..... I once read that this pyramid would have actually been the largest pyramid if it was not for the structural problem that resulted in the necessity for the bend to be implemented.

@@travelswithfas I stayed at Cairo. And I booked a driver for a day, via hotel. No guide, just driver. I dont need guide, 'cos I know a lot about Egypt and its waste of cash for me, to hear smtng I already know. He took me to Saqara, Memphis and Dahsur, and drove me around for whole day and back to Cairo. 80 USD incl. tip. He was great. Took me directly to sites, so no walking around under sun. No street vendor harrasement, no camel owners harrasement, no tourist trap shopping. 👍

I know people were really tiny thousands of years ago - hell, they were super tiny until just 100 years ago when fortified foods and a varied diet were adopted, especially in the modern world, but people either were really tiny or - or how did they work inside and cut stone? maybe they put it together like a puzzle and built it around an open part.
@travelswithfas

@@travelswithfasWe eat like kings compared to those who lived 250+ yrs ago. People did not eat balanced diets, famine, disease and malnutrition were real things and they didn't have obamacare. That said this is a myth based on the fact that bodies tend to shrink as they decompose and dry up; ancient egyptians were about the same height that we are today.
