4-String arpeggios where you must change direction on the finger roll itself is perhaps the greatest duo of difficulty you will ever encounter when sweep picking... but why? The finger roll direction change is tricky to do cleanly, but there's also the fact that almost ALL sweep pickers simply can't do 4-string arpeggios, as they get into the bad habit of doing 3-string sweeping in a fixed downward pickslant, hitting the G string with a downstroke. This simply does not work well when expanded to 4-string sweeping. You must use 2-way pickslanting and sweep in the direction of travel.
