It’s absurd for people to think immigration is more important than climate but I personally am constantly angry that so few people care about that very critical existential issue. It’s “existential” because of how much it threatens our very existence

Kamala Harris made her “coconut tree” remarks on May 10, 2023 at the White House while swearing in the President’s Advisory Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics. “My mother used to - she would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’” Harris said, while laughing. “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.”

If so, that means she is the one who successfully convinced ecuador to stop allowing visa-less travel to chinese nationals. That was a huge win that was necessary because it was only needed due to republicans blocking the border bill. Chinese people were flying to ecuador and paying their way up to mexico where they would drive to the border, cross, and surrender to claim asylum. The border bill would have made it so these people are flown back to china, but because trump blocked it, the chinese were still able to keep doing this. The biden admin had to get ecuador to change its visa policy just to protect our border.
