Exactly my thought. She speaks faster and shows a very adult way of thinking. She matches the character perfectly. Daniel was very embarrassed, he seems to be playing the scene when Hagrid revealed him that he was a wizard... Same pace and shyness. As for Rupert... I love when he admits being nervous for being somewhat tested with that press conference, it's a very Ron thing. The Trio were a perfect casting and it will be very difficult to replace them in a new adaptation.

All of them are the same as their characters. 1) Harry : a little akward, but calm and wise . Reluctant chosen one 2) Hermione : Smart , intelligent and confident 3) Ron: Witty, quirky and goofy.

Me parece que Ron (o Rupert) era un chico muy despierto a esa edad. Creo que en las primeras películas se lo veía más asertivo, pero después decayó un poco sí personaje, y terminó haciendo más de "adolescente torpe". Daniel parecía tener el perfil más bajo de los tres y tuvo el protagónico, obviamente por su parecido al protagonista.

Kills me at 1:39 Daniel says "A long time ago i read the first two books". Even though Philosophers/Sorcerers only came out three years prior to the interview, with Chamber of Secrets coming out only two. At that age though, 2 or 3 years can seem like a long time indeed!

I am the same age as Daniel Radcliffe, and I was terribly disappointed that no one wanted to dye my hair black and cast me as Harry Potter. 20 some years later I am sitting here watching this like they are kids right now, and it's a weird feeling. They are just children having this experience. They sit in the chairs like adults, answer questions like adults, questions that adults typically would be the ones to answer. And it's just weird to watch kids minds work. I watched a fifth grader doing long division one time as a substitute teacher, and I was blown away that tiny humans like that were capable of so much. Something I took for granted as a kid, for sure.

Around their age I remember thinking " as I get older I have to absolutely remember how it feels to be this age and how much more intelligent I am than people think, I understand more than you know". I grew up with three older brothers and around older people in general and I used to find my classmates so mediocre lol. But then when I started working with children I remembered of what I had experienced and they would come up to me and say "you are our favourite cause you don't treat us like stupid kids". Of course I didn't speak to them as if they were fully adult but I'd challenge them to think deeper. Kids can do so much if given the opportunity and a little trust and confidence.

I cannot overemphasise how brilliant the choice of the cast of small kids was. Every one of them went on to keep growing in their acting skills and adding depth. Some child actors grew up to be arrogant and flashy, or pick up bad habits and hit scandals. But none of the cast here became like that. And even more remarkably , for a project that lasted over a decade and 8 lengthy movies, all the cast stayed with the project, contributing their best. This is not just a matter of the dedication of the actors and their families, but also a matter of favourable fortunes.
