What they also didn’t talk about is how she is not only popular in the US but is gaining fans internationally that has people tuning in to watch her games in the early AM hours, literally setting their alarm clocks to wake them up just so they can watch her games, in Iceland they meet up in a bar for Clark watch parties at 11pm, she is even reaching young girls in Africa and India where she is giving them hope and the motivation to hope for more; being a role model…at her games people were coming from Canada and Mexico not just traveling thousands of miles to see her but literally coming from Europe and even Australia just to watch her play…if she was able to do that in just her rookie season could you have imagined what her going to the Olympics would have been like…

The problem with the Magic / Bird comparison to the 2024 WNBA rookie class is that Clark is pretty much both of them. Magic's charisma, passing, ability to get the best out of every teammate; Bird's grit, shooting ability, getting the opposition to have their entire team to focus on him; Clark brings all of that along with the ratings push that both of them introduced to the NBA in the 80s.

Funny how they talk about racism. As a white guy and Lakers fan, I HATED Larry Bird. When Magic went to Larry's house, Larry's mom asked her son, "Did you tell him?" Magic was curious. Larry told him, "You're my mom's favorite player."

Man, you NAILED it. Especially the part about all the “social engineering” to EVERYONE, ALL THE TIME being absolutely exhausting. Clark spent 4 years at Iowa, now the W, signing every autograph for every young fan willing to wait for her. Parents feel good about letting her be a role model for their kids and taking them to games. What do you suppose their reaction is to seeing her slammed, gouged, and open-field tackled with impunity and often not even a whistle? Physicality? Fine. Non-play related assault? That’s the league and refs fault, and the players who’ve learned they can get away with it. Thanks for the commentary.

The interest on all levels on Caitlin Clark ISN'T JUST DUE TO HER ABILITIES!!! She is FUN TO WATCH - and it's not just the Logo 3's. Her passing is often jaw-dropping in its execution. She smiles a lot during the game. She's mad at herself when she makes a turnover. She talks to the tiniest kids in her autograph lines. She is the very best of being a professional athlete. Loved Rich's reactions as the various stat lines rolled out. Just made me laugh hard for the very best reasons. At 17:33 when the graphic rolled up for Caitlin's 2024 season of being responsible for 45.2% of All Points Scored by the Fever and how it shows just how far above the best WNBA players whoever laced 'em up in their very best seasons All Time really was, I just lost it. BIG laugh followed by tears rolling down the cheeks. Clark's humility is what allows me to enjoy those stat lines as I do. Can't wait for April 2025...

Her game is exciting. She’s, as Curry said, much more than a 3 point shooter with his quick release and range. She’s a floor general and assist machine. The pettiness and outright racist and heterophobic hostility towards her has exposed the WNBA, too down, as reprehensible people, both delusional and without grace honor integrity or sportsmanship They claim they’re offended that CC has received accolades when other, more deserving, players haven’t. This worship A’Ja Wilson is like telling people to be excited about Tim Duncan and ignore Curry. It’s depraved and disgusting. And has exposed the deep mental illness that holds sway in the WNVA. .

What the video failed to mention is there was a third person who took leadership over making the NBA a profitable product that was commissioner David Stern. He made the players into gentleman who had to wear suits off the court. Fined players for thug behavior, bought in drug testing. He made it a marketable product. That is what the WNBA commissioner is not doing. They needed to hype Clark for one year then start the promoting other players. She should of planned the marketing of Clarks coming in the WNBA.

I got indoctrinated during the end of her senior year at IOWA … I am a sports fanatic but had never been interested in the WNBA or women’s college basketball for that matter and am happy that I jumped on board because of CC. I watched the draft, purchased the WNBA television ticket and not only watched every Indiana game but many of the other teams play as the year played out. I became a fan of the entire WNBA as a result until I witnessed the nasty expose itself primarily against CC and her fans. Great video, earned a sub from me. the only thing i disagree with Jmxyhighroller is the reason the NBA was saved by bird and magic. DR J had the ABA growing with his high flying dunks and passes and speed of the game. the NBA was so desperate, they signed DR J which effectively started a stampede from the ABA, it then sped up the games from the NBA and killed the ABA. THEN magic and bird came in the league. And i still say DR J was the GOAT all time of men's basketball.

Unfortunately it would seem that the supercharged egos' and arrogance of the WNBA leadership and many of the players just can't get past their selfish egos'. Jealousy raises its' ugly head! Another true bench mark, and very simple to evaluate is fans displaying the jersey or shirt of their favorite fan and team. I have seen the Fever playing at "away" venues and notice a lack of the home team jerseys on display in the seats. The Fever regularly outshine the home team with THIER jerseys on display in the away teams arena! Not only CC, but Aliyah, Kelcey and Lexy as well!

I think this video was well reasoned. The stats are what they are and undeniable. You made a great point at the end - the expectation on Clark and the Fever for the 25 season is probably going to be unreasonable. I think CC is mentally capable of dealing with it. The question I have is whether Mitchell stays or goes and what impact new players and a new coach will have on team chemistry. It took the Fever 1/2 a season to Gel in 24 and so all the changes will take awhile to absorb. I personally would like to see them keep Mitchell, Boston, Hull and Clark and add a Sotu as fifth and build a strong bench.

I loved this video. Worthy of a Subscribe (which I did). The commentary was great. I actually really enjoyed the stripper analogy bc it does demonstrate what's going on here! They want big contracts and all the love but they want to qualify all of it in their terms. The commissioner should be fired. She cant day Caitlin's name without mentioning Angel Reese's name within 0.5 secs of saying Caitlin's. The social media and marketing people for the W are a disgrace, constantly shoving Aja down everyone's throats and purposefully withholding CC from getting 'extra' attention or getting even a stone's throw of what Aja is. The ROTY announcement by the commissioner was embarrassing. I'm the casual fan CC brought over. I've even been to a game in Atlanta and I didn't even know we had a team. The guard covering Caitlin played soooo good. CC couldn't get any separation and still scored 19, I think. I'm glad you pointed out CC brought her fans to the league. The W acts like they did her a favor and it is really the other way around. Maybe these haters will watch this video and get right. And Eff Nike. I'm done with them. Disgraceful.

Look how many long standing records Caitlin broke as a rookie. If you don't think she is incredible, you're delusional. If she was with a better team they could have won the championship, but she was a number one draft choice, so she went to the worst team. That someone voted against her for Rookie of the Year is disgraceful.

According to some websites that track this kind of stuff CC is the most popular female athlete in the world, the 14th most popular athlete of any gender on earth and the fourth most popular athlete born in the USA behind only Mahomes, LeBron and Durant. This was a great breakdown of a great video. I was able to understand the 'star chart'. LOL! I have always watched the W but I have never seen such a spectacular player as one Iowan named Caitlin Clark.

I've got the WNBA pass on Amazon. I watched the fever games with my friends. Before CC, it seemed like being drafted by the Fever was a career-ender. Mitchell, Hull, and Boston are all top picks, but they struggled as a team. Until Caitlyn. Now they look like they're having fun out there, and they're starting to thrive.

Great video. What the commissioner of W does is say correctly that the % attendance, % viewership and % merchandise sales have gone up from 2023 to 2024 seasons to establish that the W was already growing. Then she just lumps %%% from above with the Caitlin Clark Effect numbers in an attempt to obscure the difference between the %%% numbers and the CCE numbers. Sometimes she just uses the %%% numbers plus the CCE numbers without giving the %%% numbers. I've seen other videos that describe the %%% increases as incremental and the CCE numbers increases as exponential. He then goes on to compare time frame required at incremental growth to catch up to the growth attained in 2024 (%%% + CCE). If I find the video, I'll add the name of it in a comment here. Perhaps this info is helpful.

I really don’t think those numbers come CLOSE to what she can do. Christie Sides handcuffed the girl from day one-forcing her to play Nursing Home basketball. She adapted but the entire team suffered with that style of play. She refused to make plays for Caitlin &/the not time she’d call a timeout is when Caitlin’s shoes were smokin. She was Caitlin’s worst nightmare come true. And the fact that she’s still the head coach of that team is truly mind boggling & doesn’t give me much hope for next season bc she doesn’t like Caitlin & Caitlin doesn’t like her either. In fact CC quit calling her coach in May or June & still calls her Christie instead of Coach bc she knows what we all know, Christie is a saboteur. It’s as if A’ja is wearing a Christie Sides mask trying to coach CC off a cliff. The media knows that she sucks & don’t ever question her kindergarten skills bc they’re all in on it- including the refs. Caitlin should have had DOUBLE the free throws adding to her points-plus they’d get the ball which could have changed all those close games. And I don’t see that changing either. These women just don’t want a Caitlin spanking bc they see it as humiliating instead of seeing it as a GAME of basketball.

The harsh truth is that the world saw the wnba beat, hate, and reject Clark for pouring out what the Lord poured into her. The little girls watched the wnba elbow her face, gouge her eyes and rupture her eardrum . The little girls watched grown women ball up their fist and strike her head to cause injury and pain. The wnba is over, done, toast. It's over

With everything she did, the attendance, setting records, tv deals, lead the all star team to beat the Olympic team. personally advocated for spot bonuses, she never publicly made negative remarks about the other players or coaches, probably more I'm missing. She has been mistreated the entire season and is still getting heat and snubs. Didn't even get the same ROTY award ceremony as the others, Nike has been put her on the back buner so to speak along with basically insulting her with a t-shirt, Sports Illustrated gave the cover to Reece. They have been entirely ungrateful, disrespetful, and despicable towards Clark.

I don't know enough about basketball to say Caitlin Clark is or isn't "great". But it's obvious that she's very good. While racism may play a part, I think the primary driver of the hate she's getting is jealousy over the amount of attention she's getting. But the reason she's getting all the attention is simple: She plays the kind of basketball people want to watch. Quick, unselfish, precise, exciting. And effective.

Anybody with sense can tell that Clark is legit and has the goods. I think the madness comes in when A) ppl try to descredit the players of the past and B) try to descredit Clark. I feel like there is a way to honestly enjoy what Clark has brought to the game and the evolution she represents while also respecting the foundational figures and what they did. Truthfully, there are alot of really fun and talented players in the womens game now, with a few more on the horizon. If you enjoy sports, more specifically bball then you'll be able to find players to get behind. And Clark might be the player to get the fan in the door to see them.

I think she has re awakened something in lapsed wnba fans and has ignited something in prospective fans. I got back into the league a year or so before Clark came in. I was definitely casual at best through the 2010s(mainly checking for star players and personal faves) after being way more invested in the league as a whole during earlier years. I think Clark being a big star helps with interest, especially as young rivals and contemporaries enter to compete. I do disagree w Jimmy in that the discussions about the game itself don't seem to be happening like that. Most talk is agenda based on 1 side or the other. I'd like to get to the place where fans can talk about Sabrina's performance in game 2 the way we talk about an NBA conf finals performance

I think tiger woods is a good example to compare her to. A lot of the Old guard really went out of their way to talk s*** on tiger woods in the beginning. Some of it had to do with race some of it had to do with jealousy. I really think that's exactly what's happening with this league

4K tickets * $20 per = 80K in revenue but 18K tickets selling out the stadium = $2M, that’s a 25X increase in revenue. $2M x 20 home games = $40M. When an away team moves the game to a NBA stadium ticket sales generate $2M. Caitlin Clark fans love to watch her play. Most of the hate towards Caitlin Clark is generated from past and present WNBA player association members. The WNBA players association wants the league to be an activist organization for black women achievement rather than a league that plays basketball for the love of the game, for the fans, and for the millions of dollars they can make like NBA players do. Caitlin Clark has not bent the knee to WNBAPA activism so it constantly uses its influence to get members to assault CC with flagrant fouls and to get refs to make and not make call as they need.

Let me describe the CC effect on Women's basketball. I was stationed in New Zealand a proud US NAVY Aviation Machinist Mate. During my original deployment I was told by the locals about the National Rugby All StarTeam : The All Blacks as they were going to play South Africa in a tournament game. I had to see what the fuss was all about. Needless to say, 1st the Only thing Black was their uniform. 2nd The team roster was Mixed mostly Maori Polynesian. 3rd the Warrior Haka chant and dance was Awesome. 4th the team was Outstanding. I have been a fan of the Sport ever since 1980. Flo Hyman had me watching US Women's Volleyball. Damn that Sister was Awesome. I have been a fan ever since. Serena and Venus Williams were not my 1st in Tennis I had Wilma Rudolph and Arthur Ash. Boom Boom Boom.. Gail Marquis a fellow NY'er had me Mesmerized on the US women's basketball team in 1976 which had the greats Nancy Lieberman & Pat Head-Summit. Players like Brianna Skurry and Lakeysia Beene got me interested in US Women's soccer. Who can forget Mia Hamm the greatest US Soccer forward Male or Female. The great Michelle Akers also. Michael Jordan everyone's GOAT in Mens Basketball but my dudes were Walt Clyde Frasier and Patrick Ewing on my hometown Knicks. I used to take my nieces to WNBA NY Liberty games until 2003/4 seasons when their interest wained. It was not until CC started creeping up on the All Time scoring leader Male/Female that I started gaining interest again. I actually tuned in to both LSU and South Carolina games in their respective NCAA tournament games. Man could Caitlyn Hoop. She carried that Iowa team in both games and fought like hell to keep her teammates in it. South Carolina was brutal, just hard balling women on a Mission. I just had to see if she could be as good at the NEXT LEVEL and CC did not disappoint. Yet the league did as they played like Bill Lambeer's Combat Basketball on Super Nintendo 64. I thought I was watching Rollerball the James Can 1976 iteration. Especially Reese smacking CC in the back of the head. Chennedy ran up behind her and Bulldozing CC to the Deck. Dijon 'LADY DEATHSTRIKE' Carrington Black Eye Inducing Shoaolin Crane Style Adamantium Nail Mortal Kombat FINISH HER attack. NO FOUL We are all good here. Physical play is one thing but to Accidentally On Purpose try to injure someone is despicable. Caitlyn has people interested in this league which is $19 million in debt and has not turned a profit in 25+ years.
