CC generated 1,594 Points this season points/assists COMBINED.......THAT IS SUPER HUMAN. AND SHE DID IT WITH SOME TEAM MATES THAT ARENT REALLY GOOD....honestly she should have well over 400+ assists this season....her teammates missed countless easy shots after CC passed them the ball
@BenjWarrant2 ай бұрын
You watched them missing these slam dunk layups (to coin a phrase) with the same expression you'd watch dogs playing bagpipes. "How'd they do that?"
@digitalsoldier-1742Ай бұрын
Agreed, and don't forget how many of her passes were dropped and fumbled away...resulting in 'Clark' turnovers. That problem has appeared to be solved at the moment. Her assists will also improve in that regard. The records she will break in the years to come will be her own--set this year and the next couple--as she improves and matures over time and is surrounded by better players.
@JohnRoberts-pt8cuАй бұрын
@digitalsoldier-1742 The problem Indiana Fever had was the second line up, and some of the dumbest calls by Coach Sides, they lost at least two games because of that. How many times did we Caitlin arguing with Sides on the side line to get back into the game because Sides allowed the lead to be busted by the other team? How many times did Caitlin play the full 40 minutes, refusing to leave the court for the team because there was no one there to do what she does, making the game with Kelsey and Aliyah, and Lexei, sometimes with Smith, with the rest making up the numbers.
@williamburkholder769Ай бұрын
The trio of Clark, Mitchell, and Boston, with sometimes Hull and Fagbenle as fourth and fifth is tremendous. Some judicious trades and a new coach is all they need to be a top tier team next year. The chemistry that developed this year after the Olympics is very encouraging. What Clark brought to the league was speed, selfless passing, and fearless showmanship. She also brought a substantial following of Iowa fans and NCAA fans who wanted to see what she could do in the pros.

I just watched a college clip with CC against Aliyah Boston when she played for south carolina before she was 1st round pick with the Fever before Caitlin and now they are on the same team. its just wild. AB also had an amazing college and rookie year in the wnba for 2023

I wonder at what point in the season Caitlin Clark realized no one in the WNBA could stop her? She has forced the whole league to change. Her teammates have had to work at catching her passes. Rival teams had to completely adjust their defensive schemes trying to contain her (and couldn't quite) In the off season, Indiana Fever management needs to put a lot of thought and effort into building the team around her.

I think it was when she came back from vaca and started shooting lights out, plus her teammates started catching her passes for easy buckets.

I truly believe we are witnessing something akin too Magic, Bird, MJ, and Kobe. She is lifting the entire WNBA to new heights, just like she did with the Iowa Hawkeye Women's Basketball and NCAA Women's basketball. The pressure she is under has not caused her to fold or slip, she plays to win and doesn't really care about individual accolades. With her winning the ROTY for the WNBA she also received $5150.00 which will either be put into the Caitlin Clark Foundation or she may even share it with her teammates simply because that is who she is. Through all of the hate and vitriol she has remained above the fray and has not commented on any of it. She just uses it a fuel to make herself and her team better.

It's a team sport, and she plays at a faster pace than the league is used to. Year two, expansion draft and free agency willing, she will have a team used to playing her game. Expect her assists to be at a higher level, and expect her team to be better at taking advantage of her court gravity. When she pushes, defenders are drawn to her regardless of the coverage they are supposed to be playing. She MAKES ROOM, and when her team gets more used to it, expect all of their numbers to climb higher. On ball, off ball, her effect gets stronger when her team learns to expect and exploit it.

Clark is 6' her little pal Kelsey Mitchell is 5'7"-5'8". Mitch is a deadbang 3point shooter and has been in the WNBA eight years. Clark's new 3point shooter is Forward Lexie Hull. She is 6'2"-6'3". Everybody calls her Sexie Lexie lol. Clark's paint defender is 6'3" Center Aliyah Boston. Power forward Temi Fagbenle is 6'4".

the funny thing is that she is above 50% average when shooting 30 ft and out. She is actually not that good shooting at the 3 point line. She got better in recent weeks but like college the farther out the better. And yes she has the fartherest average shot in the WNBA and NBA. And the biggest misconception people have is that Clark is 6ft, she even said herself she is not 6ft, she is 5 10" and she does not weigh 150 but 140.

Rough start to the season high number of turnovers alot of them due to the inability of her teammates to catch her passes and they were playing back to backs against the best in the league like Liberty, Sun, and Storm but came on and then the Olympic break happened and the Fever came out swinging hard! She broke tons of rookie records and most assists in a game and assists in a season in WNBA history. Long winded I jnow but if your starting to get into the W check out Arike Ogunbawale and even Kelsey Mitchell from the Fever because she was on fire at the end of the season!

They way I look at WNBA. It still a young league. When NBA back in the back. It took a long time to have awesome players. We got Magic and Bird. Later Michael Jordan. I think we are having Clark and Reese. In couple of years. We have young girls playing more Basketball. Maybe down the road WNBA version of MJ. Or someone like that. It just takes time.

@JohnRoberts-pt8cuАй бұрын
Caitlin should have been MVP, but they made it political. She broke 62 records in her rookie year. She had TWO triple doubles, the first rookie to achieve that. Now, if you take Caitlin's stats for the year and use the system from ESPN, she is Nr1. If you use the NBA scoring system for MVP, Caitlin is the winner of MVP, but the WNBA would not give her that. They voted for A'ja Wilson and put Caitlin on fourth place, even though she filled the stadiums every time she played, with over 1 million viewers for every game played home and away, and she holds the record of flagrant fouls against her in the entire league, with over 17%, it should be more, but another 2% were not called, Chicago sky made 80% of the fouls against Caitlin, the other 20% goes to the Sun with Carrington being the worst flagrant foul not called, it was an assult nothing else, Caitlin was rookie of the year before she even started, Caitlin haters kept saying Angel Reese was rookie of the year with her double doubles, which she created herself getting her own rebounds, after trying to do a layup 4 or 5 times, missing from three feet away, it looked terrible, and boring 😴, Caitlin is exciting to watch, her 3s, her passing from her own free throw line, then her dribbling, better than a lot of men in the NBA. ENJOY.
