Frenkie didn't sign the contract that pays him THIS much. It is due to the deferred salaries. Barca owes it to him. Shunting him off because he is now too expensive to be paid vs his worth is shady and slimy behaviour. Even Pep, who has John Stones, never converted him into a conventional CDM. He starts from defense and rolls into midfield (different from CDM, played by Rodri even when Stones plays). People don’t understand that CDM work is one of the hardest and yet, most important jobs in football.

There is no question about his quality but this is not working for the club. Gundogan should be absolutely dropped. He has offered nothing from midfield. Well how would Gavi do without Pedri or Frenkie? I think Frenkie is unlocking new talents in this time. He's getting better defensively, which will only help the team once we have a solid CDM. My only gripe is that I wish he would shoot more often, but he is more of a deep lying playmaker. Can't be two places at once.

That about Lewandowski being 3rd in the world is not true. His net salary is 12m€. What you wrote is gross salary. About DeJong being one of the most paid it's true, but his salary is around 18-25 net (depending on clauses)

Other players sacrificed and forgiven money being owed to them (not saying De Jong should do the same). Here is the problem, the club wants to keep him (and I want him to stay as well) but the team also needs a pivot. In order to do that Frenkie and other players that the club plan on extending and lowering wages should do it, if not then be sold to a team that is able to pay them what they deserve. Frenkie is entitled to the money but he also wants to stay at Barca knowing they most likely can’t give him what he wants? He can’t have his cake and eat it too

1st of all, anyone that mentions his astronomical wages as a "barca fan" shows to me they've been living under a rock. Frenkie has deferred his wages for so long that all those bad decisions the board made are now catching up to them. Do you expect him to defer his wages once more? I agree what he's earning on the surface looks insane, but it is well earned after the respect he gave the club by sticking with them and taking pay cuts on pay cuts. Secondly, have you watched any of the recent games when you mentioned you want to slide gundogan out of the squad? The man is the best preformer in the squad... Lastly, with everything Frenkie has shown the club in terms of love and respect combined with him buying his new home in the area on top of him and his wife really wanting to spend their lives together in Catalonia, i dont see him ever leaving the club unless barca forces him out at the end of his contract which will never happen.

I disagree with the argument that “well this is the contract he has and he is not wrong in enforcing it”. I’d say that’s correct if it were a regular job but it is not. He knows he is overpaid and the moral thing to do here (especially considering he’s already filthy rich) is to give up on the big ass salary for the good of the club, even if he were performing at that level. I’ve always liked him as well and think he’s very good but if he doesn’t lower his salary then I think we should push to sell him 100%
