I love this video. I've just watched a minute, but I'm still seeing the problems I'm facing while trying to start game dev. I'm someone who's always had a passion for game development, but have no background in coding, game development or even doing pixel art. I'm getting a lot of insight from this video. Is there any tips you'd give to someone who wants to make a 2d game in unity?

Thank you so much for watching! I'm all about helping new devs get started and demystifying the process. In terms of 2D games, definitely look at the Thomas Brush videos on creating great art. Also, be sure to utilise Adobe Colour (it's free!) as you can upload a reference photo and get beautiful colour palettes in return!

@4:07 - I feel like I must be misunderstanding something about the math here. 2 * 50 = 100, so you're saying that if a game in the genre you're considering has 2 or more reviews, it's an idea worth pursuing? Seems low.

Yes that math makes sense. It's not always going to be the case of course but I think that is what you can generally expect. I'd suggest looking at the minimum wage in your country and multiplying this by the hours spent on the project. This is going to be the biggest cost. 100 copies is great but if you don't make you're costs back you've made a loss :(
