Ole fella is the kind of guy I would love to hang out with on a winters day around a warm fire. Guarantee he has some amazing stories to tell.

It's funny when you're at a certain age you have no time for storytellers like this guy, they can make you want to run. Then you reach an age when you want to hear their stories all the way through. Then funnily enough, you're the one telling these stories to anyone who'll listen. Personally I've always liked listening to old timers tell stories. Even when I was a kid. Maybe it was because the old duffers surrounding me told good stories all the time. Maybe it's because deep down I knew I'd end up doing the same. 😊 Really enjoyed this video.

I always hoped to hear more of this Little Devil tractor....l remember reading about it in a Antique tractor magazine in the late 1980s- early 1990s...simply a fascinating story👍👍

I read about it in a tractor book. The most interesting part about it to me is it's a 2 cycle engine and to get it to go into reverse, you idle it down to almost stalling, pull the timing lever back and the motor runs backwards

Some one asked why they were dangerous. The motor is a 2 cyl, 2 cycle design and made to run either direction. When under heavy load the motor can pull down in rpm and suddenly kick back and reverse itself, so suddenly the tractor is going full steam in reverse, the driver sits low and to the rear. Puts the operator between the tractor and implement, You can get crushed between the 2, the company had serious claims from customers over this, so they recalled them all and intended to destroy them before anymore people got hurt. Even though the 3 wheel design is somewhat unstable, the instant reversing was the fatal flaw that got them removed from use, It's not good marketing to have your product kill off your customer base! A couple of them managed to slip through the cracks, so I think 3 survive today, the one above is the best known and also is in running condition.

I don't think I understood half what he said (no disrespect), but I enjoyed the story 😊. The man has a great memory for detail - I can hardly remember what I did last week!

Why was it dangerous?

It looks like most of the weight is on the side with the drive wheel so it would probably roll on a side hill.
