This video makes me very happy. I spent a weekend in 1968 in Crown Heights with a Lubavitch family and later went to a yeshivo in Israel. This is all so familiar and yet very different there today. I miss especially the Yiddish that was common and is now almost gone.

Most of the Yiddish spoken now is done by anti-Zionists. In both New York and even in Israel unfortunately.
@familygotlieb28973 жыл бұрын
@@expo7112 Yiddish is also spoken by many people who are not anti-Zionist. Many Chareidi communities and many Chassidic communities support the Zionist government (although they would like it to be more Jewishly observant) and are not anti-Zionist.

The documentaries from the early 70s are the best. The simplicity takes it further than overload of specific cinematography. So beautiful. Beautiful people. Long live Judaism.

Vincent Tortoro was University professor and became interested in making a film about Hasidim. He contacted some local community members and slowly made his way into the community and began filming.

What about the prohibition of doing images of the nature? That men were painting. Is that permitted?
