You all were awesome at YogCon, and I know you guys will do great on stage again!! I hope you all tell us all about it and how everything went in a later podcast, I'm excited, haha

If i'm walking somewhere I do the same as smith I watch myself walk the route in fast forward from when I last did it. but if I'm using a map I can rotate it. The map rotates opposite to the way you turn so if you make a left turn, turn the map clockwise (Right)

My Husband doesn’t have an inner monologue! He said thoughts just appear as a fully formed thought and then they go. He doesn’t hear it in any sound or voice, not even his. I was blown away when I found that out!
@p0ppys4 жыл бұрын
about the not being able to hear your inner voice/monologue. I can't visualize faces in my head. I can imagine people, but when I think of those people later, I can't describe what their face looks like.
@M1ntberrycrunch4 жыл бұрын
I know that faces are remembered in a special part of the brain, (which is why we can recognise even the smallest differences in faces). That part is probably not accessible when thinking normally. Also I think you can't see faces in dreams either.
@M1ntberrycrunch4 жыл бұрын
Funny thing tho, if you see a picture of someone's face, can you remember the picture of the face (kind of including the face)?
@p0ppys4 жыл бұрын
@@M1ntberrycrunch kind of, but not very vividly. I can definitely remember faces when I see them in person. But just thinking abou a person seems to not bring back all the details. Very interesting indeed.

american sockets do have three holes with an earth/ground. in older american homes there may not always be an earth but generally most sockets will have them. they are just orientated slightly differently and with different shaped holes than in the UK. They also dont have the switch on them which is a shame.

You cant do that with a plug top in the UK as all new plugs have a plastic section on the line and neutral connections which will stop you being able to touch the pins before it becomes live.

Having a fear of losing something means you'll likely put more effort into protecting it. If you had zero fear of losing/damaging your phone, for example, there's a good chance you would wind up spending more on replacements and repairs.
@roololing4 жыл бұрын
And it would make sense for that fear to be bigger with things that aren't as easily replaced.

Smith if you'd like to imagine what you'd be if you weren't driven by emotions and therefore were super productive. You'd basically be a robot. You'd get everything done to a high standard determined by your skill set and at the end of the day you'd go to bed and rest (or plug yourself into a wall haha). But again the question would return "what's the point?". A robot only does what we programme it to do. We only programme it to do things because it benefits our goals. And our goals are driven by our emotions. You'd be depressed if you completed ignored your emotions and focused on productivity and ultimately it wouldn't be beneficial to you. It's also not smart to go the other way and be totally driven by your emotions because you'd be a mess and it would again lead to depression. It seems so obvious and lame when people say you have to strike a balance but sometimes the answer is the obvious one and there isn't much more than that. Your goals mean something to you, your family means something to you and your possessions mean something to you! Through our emotions we can find meaning in the smallest of things. I think that's quite beautiful and not something to be taken for granted. I hope you get my message.

on the topic of having kids, the way I see it is typically, successful and smart people tend to have less kids. Smart people are usually more considerate of the environment. I feel it is their obligation to fill the world with as many smart offspring as possible lmfao

For us our AI is electronic. What if we are the result of an ancient species that made us using a highly Advanced bio organic technology. For example, humans have created all the individual parts that make up an electronic AI lifeform but this ancient species used a carbon based biology to create the human body. Our brain is an organic super computer. All of our individual parts are a part of this highest level of ancient technology that has become sentient and self-reliant. Or something... What would the ancient species look like?

I thought I didn't want kids all through my 20s and early 30s. Then at some point in my mid 30s I thought about the possible experiences of a humans existence. I only get one shot at the experience of having children, and I wanted to have a full human experience during my life, rather than squander or regret any opportunities. I now have 2 wonderful children and I would absolutely do it again. I would recommend stoicism to anyone struggling through life at the moment: yes, its easy to lie in bed and be comfy and warm, but as animals that's not what we're designed to do. Get up, and do what you are designed to do. Life is hard, but we're designed to adapt and persist and you're much stronger than you think you are.
