@ДонетианПетков-э2л9 жыл бұрын
This was Quentin's movie through and through. The three main aspects of his filmography was here in a full motion - his love of cool dialogue, of over-the-top violence and of Samuel L. Jackson. And he didn't hold them back at all. If you are true fan of Quentin Tarantino, this is the movie for you. Now, if you like Pulp Fiction's smooth dialogue only or only the Reservoir Dogs explosive violence, no, you may not like it, but again it wasn't meant for you in the first time. I don't think it was meant for the true die-hard fans of Quentin either - it was for him. It was a passion project from the start to the bloody finish. And I admire him for it - too few directors out there are going that road all the way to the end. For me it was a such fresh breathe, even though he re-used some of his scenes from his other movies (I am sorry, paid homage to them - like, this is the expression nowadays, right?) and the second 1/3 was too much stage play for me (people giving monologues and the focus is on them for no apparent reason without a smooth transition from one character to the other). Before watching this movie, I watched Star Wars and I was sooo in love in the first 1/3 of The Force Awakens, that when the heavy expositions and the not-needed-remake character of the movie came, I was sooo disappointed. I wanted to see some true passion project, something that rings love, care and respect for the movie and not just "pay homage". "Hateful Eight" delivered in a such big way that I felt the same as I felt, leaving "The Dark Knight" - pumped and ready for some Tarantino / Nolan binge watching!

That's why he went over the top playing an eccentric British man because that is like the least intimidating thing in the world and makes for a perfect cover. Hicox's real accent was nothing like that of the character he was pretending to be.

I will give Jennifer Jason Leigh this: I want to see an alternate version where she is the main character because anyone that suicidially awful deserves their own origin movie...There were times I even WANTED her to escape because of the casual violence against a handcuffed woman who was ultimately just an hyena among hyenas. Still, it was a pretty dance...and ultimately she had partners..

I don't get it. How did you want the movie to end? You complained about it ending the way it did but never offered an alternative. Did you just want everyone to go their separate ways? Did you want less violence? Did you want certain characters to live over other characters? You complained about the movie being one way then complained when all those things lead to the inevitable conclusion. It's like you see someone making lasagna, you're like, oooh I like noodles, ooh I like cheese, ooh I like tomatoes, then you get the final product and you're like, WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT! I'm with you guys 100%, this film was pretty solid until the killing started, and then I was rolling my eyes at the gratuitous, pointless violence. It's getting to the point that Tarantino is doing a parody of himself like Tim Burton is doing nowadays because he's feeling himself too much and lacking any sort of perspective on how his artistic choices may come across. I give this film a low matinee.

I just watched this and i agree, the overthetop gore and violence we've seen from tarantino since Jackie Brown just takes away from the movie in my opinion. Ofcourse you can have blood and violence, but he should really learn from his earlier films, where it doesn't take you out of the movie. I bet if he'd make Jackie Brown today, he would put a bucket full of blood flying whenever a character gets shot.

I've read a lot of complaints that Hateful Eight is a disappointing western, but it's not a western in anything more than its setting and style. The script is a tribute to French Grand Guignol Theatre of the 1800s, and the Italian horror movies of the 60s (Mario Bava's films being a prime example) inspired by them. Grand Guignol plays would often gather together a cast of reprehensible characters and then pit them against each other, killing them off in bloody ways until only one or two survivors remained.

I didn't hate this movie but to me the length hurt it, the dialogue and the pay off wasn't good enough to justify the length. Now there are many folks, from black, to white, to yellow, to pretty much any color of the skin, that use say it and use it amongst themselves. But it seems that some folks are using the fact that some folks say it amongst themselves as an excuse to say to be prejudice. It seems that it is less about people saying it and more about how it is being said. For example, when you here the fellows singing, rapping, and greeting each other, you here the a "ga" at the end. But then there are those nasty folks out there that use the "ger" and are using it solely to be vile.

I did not like this movie. If you did like this movie then that is where the subject ends. Here's my criticism of the pointless plot of the movie, I'd like to know if any one else thought that once we knew the gangs plan why they didn't just kill Kurt Russel's character as soon as he came into the cabin? I mean they had weapons and should have taken advantage of their target turning his back on them. No one else in that room needed to stay in "Character".

I felt like he really ruined a great, tense, interesting atmosphere by getting so goofy and absurd. And once all that great mood and tension is broken, sorry Tarantino, you can't get it back. I would watch the first hour of this movie again and just stop, especially because of how nicely Russell, Jackson, and especially Goggins play off of each other. Tarantino seemed like he was finally showing restraint and letting great writing shine, with the beautiful music and landscape, and unfortunately no one told him to cool off and keep the good thing he had going.

So I'm an African who was raised in Australia. I hate the N word (regardless of who says it), but what I hate more is when people who are okay with using the N word themselves get pissed off when others use it. Why is it ok when certain people say it but offensive when others do? It seriously baffles me because it seems so hypocritical. Either be indifferent to everyone who says it, or get angry at everyone who says it. It is stupid to treat a word as neutral in one instance but then cry that the word is offensive and loaded with a painful history of discrimation and oppression in another instance. Martin had a point though. What is and isn't socially acceptable to say is constantly changing, so maybe in the future there will be more consistency to when the N word is considered offensive (which will hopefully be always).

I really liked this film. Spoilers but wasn't Tim Roth's Character supposed to be a cartoon character from the reveal in the 3rd act.
