There's an interesting little sub-note to the conference finals this year. Everyone knows the Los Angeles Clippers started out as the Buffalo Braves in 1970. They played there for eight years before getting shoved out by the Sabres and becoming the San Diego Clippers, then the Los Angeles Clippers. But did you know the Atlanta Hawks ALSO started in Buffalo? They were created as the Buffalo Bisons of the National Basketball League in 1945 and had to move after 13 games. They bounced around before reaching Atlanta. My point here is this: It was inevitable that the Clippers and Hawks would lose. Both of the NBA teams that started in Buffalo reached their respective conference finals and both of them lost. The Buffalo Sports Curse shows no mercy.

@MrSlashblade3 жыл бұрын
@@skyblaze1134 literally there was more players who elevated their name from last year (Butler, Murray, Mitchell, Jokic, TJ Warren, Powell, Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Luguentz Dort, Luka Doncic) vs this year (Ayton, Seth Curry, Trae Young, i guess Middleton, Booker, and Paul George) it’s less new stars and more next man up, and again there’s been so much injury that as a real basketball fan the only reason you would like this finals, is just the concept of new teams in the finals, which that novelty runs out when star players from every side get injured. If Giannis just gets a 2019 KD then I don’t care how much you love the “new stars” it’s just going to be virtually every top player that Phoenix played was either injured or playing hurt. It’s not even like GS where the best player on the team was still there it was just key piece or two that’s missing. Also this seems less like small market teams and more you not liking Lebron, because something tells me you still disliked him even when he played for small market Cleveland and that’s more small market then the capital of Arizona. Also we’d have this same issue if the finals were Clippers vs Hawks which neither is small market.

They made the guy, they had the best shooting coach in the world, the only guy who saw Kawhi as a player who didn't know HOW to shoot, rather than one who COULDN'T shoot. Injuries fucking happen, and the Spurs are the only team that ALWAYS put long-term health over short-term success, resting starters on B2B's before it was even a thing. Now the Clips have to eat crow for picking up this toxic asset. We know what Uncle Dennis wants, a supermax. We know what the Clips want, another year before doing that. What I also like here is that the Suns & Bucks were brothers in expansion. I never give a damn what city a sports team plays in, if they're good, good! I think, due to more availability of communication and knowledge in today's world, that talking about how a team isn't worthy to praise, win, or watch because the city they play in isn't nationally known or a magnet for tourists is long past its expiration date. For me, it's nice to see the Suns back in The Finals, and great to see the Bucks make it back (the Bucks were one of the NBA's strongest for a long time and still hold a good franchise winning percentage, even with being in the wilderness for so long).

I have been waiting for over twenty years for my Phoenix Suns to get back to the NBA finals. Back when Sir Charles was traded to the Valley and had a career year only to be halted by Jordan and the Bulls for the third straight year. Now we get to see Chris Paul do what Barkley couldn’t do. I was hoping for a Hawks/Suns finals series, but I think that the Hawks will be back after how close they almost got. I think Atlanta will come in with that massive chip on their shoulders and come in with a hunger, so I will not count them out. But to have two teams in the finals that have not been there in in like twenty and forty years respectively. This Suns/Bucks series is gonna be awesome but in the end my Suns got this one. They are top to bottom good, but then again the same could had been said for Barkley and company and we all saw what Jordan and the bulls did to them to clinch their third straight NBA title. Love this match up. Finally some fresh faces in the finals.
