The Haters Guide to the 2024 MLB Postseason

One of the most wide-open postseasons in baseball's recent history. Both last year's World Series champion and runners-up out of October entirely. A wide chorus of contenders of all shapes and sizes. And then there are those that just want to watch everything burn. And then there's Detroit.
This is the MLB Postseason. The madness and tension will be at a fever pitch, and the excitement is palpable. This video is in dedication to the twelve franchises that desire eternal glory. I wish them the best of luck in their quest.

Think it's fair to say the Orioles slumping was tied to their injuries, good god the injuries. Grayson, Bradish, Means, Wells, all done for the year, Danny Coloumbe and Jacob Webb went down for long stretches of time. Jordan Westburg, Ryan Mountcastle and Ramon Urias also got dinged up. Offense has looked a lot better since getting those guys back, my main worry is the backend of that bullpen and who's closing games for us. Might have to be a closer by committee headlined by Yennir Cano

Brewers fans are reveling in this season. Everyone wrote this team off when Benedict Counsell left for Chi, and we lost Burnes and Woodruff, and we weren't expected to win 80 games. From that, this season has been a showcase of the young talent to come. Chourio, Frelick, Garrett, Turang. This team has young talent in the farm system about ready to come up too. This isn't about this year for this team, it's what's to come. This team is going to be scary in the next 3-4 years.

As an Oriole fan for many years, I’ve seen many seasons in which we were plagued by injuries. This year happened to be an injury riddled season as well as the pressure of reaching October again getting to us. I’m still cautious about our chances, but I think we can manage just fine in the wildcard. However, if we beat the Yankees… it may be one of those fateful years like the 2018 Capitals.

I will lmao if Pat Murphy gets Manager of the Year when we had Counsell for how many years and he never got it. Pat Murphy absolutely deserves it too cuz the Brewers were on average predicted to be either 4th/Last place in the NL Central due to all the departures and injuries like the following. Trading Corbin Burnes Craig Counsell going to the Cubs Devin Williams out the 1st half of the season no Brandon Woodruff for the year no Garrett Mitchell for the 1st half of the season no Yelich 2nd half of the season This team had every reason to lie down and die and call it a year, but no, the Brewers were the 1st team to win their division this year and 1st team to make playoffs before anyone else. Only the Yankees and Dodgers have better run differentials than the Brewers. The Rookies have been unreal, forget Jackson Chourio (who would be a RoY winner in any other year if not for Skenes among other like 3 other rookies) and his 20/20 season at 20 years old, the Brewers also have Joey Ortiz, Jared Koenig, and Tobias Myers, hell there were other rookies during the season that were impressive like Robert Gasser and Bryan Hudson. the 2 pitchers the Brewers traded for? Montas and Civale? Perfectly serviceable, they do their jobs. The rest of the bullpen? Good LORD! Megill 1st half Relief Man of the year, Joel Payamps, April relief man of the year when Abner Uribe went bust. Pat Murphy even abused the Opener tactic by putting in relief men to start THEN putting in a starter like Colin Rea or Bryse Wilson, AND IT WORKED FREQUENTLY! The Brewers had 0 business being good this year, and I enjoyed this year for as long as it lasted, and hope they do well in the playoffs. This team has depth, and Pat knows how to use it. They have no MVP/Cy Young winner this time, just a really really really good Manager.

As a Yankee fan, I think out of all postseason teams, we have miraculously been the most healthy team throughout the season. While Cole was out in the beginning, our rotation was still solid. and when he came back, Clarke Schmidt got injured which let Cole slide back in seamlessly. Stanton got hurt for only a month but besides that our main lineup guys have been fine. They just need to come in firing.

As a brewers, fan I just gotta correct you. Brewers have had a MUCH better offense than pitching this season. Besides HRs and slugging (where they are about average) they are a top team in pretty much every offensive metric especially RISP where they are one of the best in baseball
