Lost Mines

3 жыл бұрын

It was a very weird and creepy feeling, the sound of someone walking in a place we had to rappel down into that has been lost for century's! We tried to enhance so you could hear and experience the lost souls of this mine! May we never forget those who have paved the way for us to have such great things in life now!
this was a brilliant exploration what we found was nice, and well worth the adventure!
amazing find in this mine, and nice to be back after being on lock down with the virus we have emerged and are finding again! enjoy. Al
Amazing original timber workings still in place in this deep cold wet abandoned mine on to more adventure and exploring of the history of these welsh and ancient mines

I'm seeing a dark water mark on the mine floor... it's probably quieter because the level's lower, the volume of the tunnel has changed and so with it has the natural resonance. For any given point in a long closed tube, a given frequency of sound can be amplified as it returns; it's the same principle as how a flute works

@@LostMines along those lines, perhaps a motion sense trail cam? Couldn’t hurt. If there’s anywhere that might have energies and such we don’t understand it’s ancient mines like that, worked by innumerable generations of miners (lots of which, as you are well aware, were children)... so fascinating. I always love it when you guys find a Roman or medieval adit. Have you guys ever done any of the old Bronze Age copper mines like Great Orme at Llundudno and the like? I’m always so intrigued by places such as that.. Native Americans rarely engaged in hard-rock Mining or any other sub-surface stuff, so we don’t have a ton of non-natural features this side of the pond. With a few notable exceptions... it’s interesting actually, as an aside, at Isle Royale and quite a few other locations scattered around the Great Lakes, there were thousands of tonnes of copper extracted from the earth during the Bronze Age from more than 5000 sites, but only a tiny fraction of that copper can be accounted for in the frequency of native artifacts that show in the archaeological record. Quite curious, always made me wonder....

I'm thinking frog. At around 7:04 I do hear something, A tree frog can stick to rocks and hang upside down. It's not going to panic or get startled, you will walk right by it. But here is the thing, it looks like a pretty straight shot. 1 way in, one way out, and human ghosts are not stupid. Stuck perhaps, but a ghost wont be lost. Around 8:36 I hear a whistle, and later you DO WHISLTE when you are doing the echo check. I don't hear a voice, and this seems to be a very damp place that would attract amphibians. Cave crickets, maybe?? . Frank finds BARKING SPIDERS EVERYWHERE.. I am surprised he hasn't gotten bit.

It sounds to me like some tones really resonate in there. The whole time you were walking, I heard a low droning sound which could have been you footsteps resonating, or wind at the mouth of the mine. When Ioan was waiting for Al to exit, a bird sang in a way that reminded me of the other sound I heard, rhythm wise. But my first thoughts were a frog and water falling in a cavity inside the walls.

Maybe take an EMF meter down there with you? I've been watching ghost hunter stuff in my youth and they always had these meters and when there was something that meter would react because these ghosts and stuff that were there are always electromagnetic phenomena ... When it's getting colder around you that could also be a sign that there is some sort of presence. In any case interesting again! I also agree with some comments before me. It also sounds like water to me somehow. But one can never know.

The Commentary from the little lamb & friends was quite apropos.. Well Done fellas. Seriously, With the Magnificent Echo- It would be a Perfectly Brilliant Idea to place a trail cam-type situation down there, but as many traIL cams need a trigger, such as movement.. I'd stray away from those. I'd even volunteer to watch the entire experiment's footage to weed down to the pertinent times there might be a sound or noise. Be Interesting, fascinating also & a well-deserved time sink & distraction from world events.

The fact that it stopped when you guys were talking and did not make a sound until you were silent for some time tells me that it is likely a living thing. What you have here is some large possibly unknown salamander species. This is similar to a salamander "barking" but it sounds deeper and longer than what I have heard! So maybe even some species of life we have never seen before

I wish I was Young Again; I'd be up to climbing down there with my HiFi microphone to see what you guys were hearing. I didn't hear what you guys were talking about. I did hear something that sounded like an animal's vocalizations, but have you guys considered it perhaps might be a sound that an insect makes? I don't know what time of year your last foray into this mine was, but I do know that sometimes the sounds made by insects can be the most surprising things ever. Like water bugs, I don't know if England has them but here in Canada, they get remarkably large sometimes up to three or four inches long and they make a noise that you would swear was not an insect sound. Did you guys look at your feet a lot in there? or perhaps the back of the mine? Most times there is a reasonable explanation for the sounds that are reliably there. trust me, if you guys went into a truly haunted place, you'd know it, because there'd be no doubt left in your mind as to whether it is haunted or not. Yes, I am a truly believer and I refuse to mess around with places where a malevolent entity resides. I know far too much about such things to be comfortable around them.

I'd be really interested in hearing more of any further attempts to uncover the source of those sounds. I know a lot of people like to think there's something supernatural or otherworldly, but I've always been a more down-to-earth sort of chap -- mundane explanations are far more likely and worth exploring before having to resort to the paranormal, indeed the mundane explanations can be interesting in themselves.
