THE HAUNTED VALLEY (1923)- “The Brink of Eternity”- Ruth Roland, Jack Dougherty, Francis Ford

Of all the major silent serial queens, Ruth Roland’s work is perhaps the most underrepresented today for home viewing. Here’s to changing that! This fantastic chapter of Roland’s 1922 serial “The Haunted Valley” was produced by her own film company, “Ruth Roland Serials inc”, of which you can see a title card in the beginning. Not to give too much away, but it (literally!) ends on a cliffhanger! Huge thanks to Christopher Snowden for loaning me his 8mm film print to scan and score. Enjoy!

Thank you Robert! Really glad you liked it! This is using Adobe Premier, and going scene by scene and applying warp stabilizer to each one. I’be been doing this for about an odd month or two ish now, and plan on going back and doing it to everything I’ve already posted!
