Huh, there's some sort of weird audio error in the editing this time - in random moments your voices aren't sync'd to your mouths, even though the TV footage is still perfectly sync'd.

Steve still annoys me But these days I tend to give him more grace. For instance, he was right about Joey. And the more I listen to her chatting snd little speech in the flashback the more it sounds kind of fake and like deliberate smooth talking
@ElevenHymnСағат бұрын
Note that in Luke's 90 days chip speech at the end, he says "it's taken me 10 years to get to 90 days" and he earlier said he's stolen from Steve countless times. So he's been robbing Steve for over 9 years and Steve still had him and Joey over for dinner, that's an insane amount of patience and good will.
@amurderofbananas74492 минут бұрын
Yeah, Steve gets a lot of crap, but he’s probably been burned by Luke for twenty years now. He loves his brother, he just won’t give him an inch any longer. On top of that, he’s secretly dealing with his own personal issues with his wife.

It's easy to blame Steve but remember he's been through this many times already with Luke. Even the sister spent thousands of dollars trying to hell Luke before she had to just stop. You can't help ppl who won't first help themselves. I don't blame them if they've already tried numerous times.

It seems like the younger you are the worse you get it in this show... Steve didn't see anything, and Luke/Nellie saw the most. Kinda reminds me how destructive trauma is to young kids.
@myboatforacar2 сағат бұрын
I feel like it's destructive to older kids in different ways, too. I bet Steve wouldn't be as condescending or Shirley as much of a control freak without that trauma, at least I get that sense when comparing them with their childhood selves. We all learn to cope in different ways.
@Quzga2 сағат бұрын
@@myboatforacar Yup well said, the trauma reveals itself in many different ways. Such well written characters, almost wish we could get another season with them..
@AMBattyСағат бұрын
I kind of see it in terms of sensitivity, the older children are more like their Dad, he's a practical, logical type and Steve and Shirley are very much that way, looking for an answer or a practical way of processing, Steve tried to explain everything away with mental illness, Shirley by her vocation to fix the dead. Theo is in the middle, sometimes emotional but also logical aa with her job. The twins are the most sensitive and closer to Liv. Liv is the most sensitive to the other things and the most susceptible. I can't say too much more without spoilers. That's how I see it anyways.

The problem with Steve (well, all of them, but still) is that he's too human. Being thrust into a situation that demands constant worrying, caring, and little to no reward, on top of everything else going on with them, has weighted them all down but he and Shirley are the oldest siblings and it's no coincidence they're the ones fed up after years.

I criticized the channel quite a bit during Braking Bad but i just wanted to say that i think the editor is doing a great job siwtching between having the reactors or the show taking up the majority of the screen. Also muting the reactors sometimes is a great touch. He really makes it so it results in a good blend between a summary of the show itself while still having the reaction be the main thing of it all. I can see that he cares. And i appreciate it!

The haunting series is phenomenal but my personal favorite is Midnight Mass. It actually was a Easter egg in Mike Flanagan's movie Hush, which I also recommend if you want to check out. Though I personally would take a break after watching Hill House.

This is the episode where it does turn the corner to start bringing in more of the family dynamics, but definitely doesn't end the scary stuff. You might also want tissues around for the rest of the episodes because now that you really know the characters you're gonna feel a lot of feels moving forward. Some of the best single episodes of TV ever made coming up.

I'm so glad you are starting to see how well the writing of each episode is telling this story in different timelines, through different perspectives. Each episode is going in the birth order of the kids so far, and each child represents 5 stages of grief and different sense. Luke says rooms smell, Nell said things are loud, Theo senses by feeling, etc. There is a really good reddit thread about the senses one. As you get to the next few episodes you can see more of each amazing actor and the camera work :)

*SIGH* Whoever told Maple that this show has ghosts in the background fcuked up. It seems like she's more interested in spotting them in the background than paying attention to what's happening right in front of her. It's a shame.
@nickb53712 сағат бұрын
I can see where you're coming from but the way the shots linger so long sometimes makes it hard not to look around and it is exciting to find one so I see where she's coming from too especially as a first time viewer
@ToweringToska2 сағат бұрын
She only mentioned seeing one once this episode, and it's hard not to acknowledge the easter eggs when they're right there. I don't think it's lessening their ability to enjoy the show, so I don't think there's any good reason for viewers to worry about it.
@gibsonmunyi7225Сағат бұрын
@@nickb5371 yes it's exciting to spot them but it's not something you know about or are looking for when you're watching the show for the first time.
