Unfortunately this is not how these Petrol Hybrids work. I have one. It's got a small battery basically just to store kinetic energy (basically when decellarating or braking) and using it to either accellarate or cruise. It charges and discharges very quickly. It is still however impressive technology. I average 3.8 L /100 km on my Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8L XR HV (Hybrid Variant). Driving a hybrid stats becoming like a game. You constantly want to see how efficient you can drive. The hybrids you're talking about is the Plug-In type. They are able to output power to external users. Wait for the RAV4 Plug-In later on this year or Fortuner Plug-In (rumered at this stage). And these types of vehicles can go down to 1.5-2.5 L /100 km because they will mainly drive in EV (Electric Vehicle mode aka on battery power) since they have much much larger (kWh) batteries.

the 2022 Jolion nearly killed me and my family, while in cruise control it jammed the brakes on, on a straight road with a slight crest, a truck smashed into the back of us. Never again will I buy this

Standard problem. Took mine to Cape Gate Haval..they upgraded the software and the problem is gone
