Dan, glad you're still around messing with the Hawk 250. I've since traded mine off for a -91 KLR250 -----> 1983 Honda XL600R.

Long time since seeing the hawk, very nice and the muffler looks like it would function well. The thing I found with the Nibbi is that in most cases people over size it and run too large, I know that I made that mistake with my Brozz and when I removed it, it ran so much better with a properly tuned pz30b carb, especially after your write up on adjusting the pressure on the squirt. That made all the difference. I still run a properly sized Nibbi on a couple of bikes and I do like it but like you say there is other options that work well too. Good to see you doing videos again 👍

I just get a lot of feedback from people when I tell them to skip the Nibbi, that it's not really gaining them anything and that an exhaust or ported head, while more expensive, have more to offer in dollar per HP. This is very true of the newbies that come in, have never worked with carbs before, and expect people to give them a perfect jetting setup over the internet, and they never get it to run right.

Nice Job. 👍 Im sharing this with a guy that will provide inspiration for his Hawk build. Yea!
@OddBallPerformance8 ай бұрын
Hopefully it helps inspire. I haven't done anything all that crazy, and most of the good stuff is hidden, like the fork valves.

I got to relearn my new carb.. pwk 30 clone my stock carb was fine but i jumped at first sight of a upgrade...

Thanks for all of the info. When you bypassed the air box with the aftermarket air filter, did you do anything about the crankcase breather tube or just leave it be? I was thinking about using it as an automatic chain oiler but have yet to decided if that is a bad idea...
@OddBallPerformance7 ай бұрын
I inserted a brass hose barb fitting with a threaded end that was the right size to clamp an automotive breather filter on to and have it secuerd up high above the air filter. up under the seat.

Daniel, I remember what you went through to get a cam for the Hawk. Does anybody in the US have a performance can for the Hawk?
@OddBallPerformance8 ай бұрын
Yep, Motocult sells the WGK cams and other products, and cheaper than what I paid to get mine. They are an offiial distributor.

rider weight doesn't affect top speed that much. I can get my bike to 75mph consistently. I just don't like pushing it that hard a lot.

@@OddBallPerformance I totally get it.... My first 600 me I was babyin the bike around town until I hit around 750.... After two oil changes I started gunin it play Queen of 75 miles an hour on the i-95 North and southbound from New York City to Connecticut and back again..... And then I found out that the speed limit is 55 mph...oops 😬
