Rather be a little fed up with making feed, then run out in the winter. I'm happy for all the farmers, that made a good hay crop for themselves and others.

It is definitely a good feeling getting a crop in before the dreaded arrives, looked like nice stuff. Nothing quite like the smell of a barn full of nice hay wafting around in the evening either. What is it likely to be fed to and why not do more clamp silage instead might I ask? When dairy farming we did all hay and barley years and years ago , hay seems to be coming back a bit perhaps drier for loose housed cattle ? I assume if talking litres of milk per acre silage wins, even accounting for the nitrogen and slurry handling side of it. One wonders , weather aside, if profit per litre could be as good with lighter kit , good old dung, hay and barley these days, your thoughts?

We're getting short of clamp space so had to make extra hay, we wouldn't normally make that much.

You be far better with a telehandler wouldn't have to double handle them .
