It is wonderful to find a documentary that is inciteful, is not trying to sell me a resort, and isn't some smarmy back-packer trying to tell me about the street food in somewhere that he thinks he's the first person to discover. I will watch the whole thing again at the weekend, when I'm not as tired. Good job!

I had no idea how beautiful in every way Uzbekistan is. I want to move here. It seems incredibly peaceful, accepting and unbelievably clean. Thank you for such a great doc!

Nice video and beautiful country. Strong Persian architectural styles from the 14th century but that is to be expected given Tamerlane and his empire. On that note, Tamerlane was a monster who made mountains out of the conquered people's heads and was pretty good at conquest and didn't spare anyone's lives other than those of artists, craftsmen and engineers.

At 10:10 seconds the calligrapher wrote Samarqand in Persian, Arabic wrong. It shouldn’t be with Arabic letter س rather with ث (ثمرقند)

For me this travel documentary was marred by extremely jarring and unnecessary music, especially the parts that were filled with loud music alien to the character of the ancient cities such as Samarkand, Tashkent and Bukhara. Didn't the makers of this video have the imagination to use soft Middle Eastern music, and even that sparingly? I had to mute the sound in order to watch the video. However, with better sound quality and subtitles, this would have made much better video, and a great difference, as the research and visuals both had potential.
